I was trawling the net last night and came across some interesting websites which attempt to debunk the hoax claims for the Apollo landings. In one of those websites i was shocked to read that only 6% of Americans believe that the landings were a hoax, given the weight of evidence that has come to light about it. After reading the claims in the debunking sites, I can see how people can become convinced that they did actually happen. For me however, there is still far too many elements of the hoax claims which the authorities cannot explain away, especially things like the Van Allen belt.
Coupled with the political climate at that time with the Cold War, the fact that the Russians were miles ahead of America in the space race and an independent study commissioned by NASA just prior to it gave them something like a 0.00017% chance of successfully landing on the moon, it is entirely conceivable without even looking at the other evidence to come to the conclusion it never happened.
What is the general feeling in the USA over this now? The figure of 6% was made by one of the websites but i heard that a program which was aired in USA in 2001 indicated the figure is as high as 30% non-believers.
I will add one final thing. I dont base my belief they never went there on the pictures that were produced. Some of them are still pretty dodgy (like having objects in the pictures that go over the cross-hairs of the camera) but alot of the anomalies can be explained, in part, due to natural phenomena. For me however, there is just to many unanswered questions and the reluctance of those involved to speak about it publicly only fuels peoples suspicions.
Anyone have a different take on this?

Ok nowwe ot 2 things on the go here, attack on perl harber and moon landinge. And soince I am a ass I well atack both
First attack on perl harber can still be called a suprise attack, as well no one at the harber saw it comming / realy worned about it. Now mind you they shoul dhave been. Actualy the first shot fired was by the US. The us sunk one of the japanease mini subs off the cost a few hr's before the attack. Hell there was a documentery last month about that and finding te sub under water. So hey the US knew somhting was up from that alown. But there was no real worning sent out from that.
The dutch sub well thats actualy one I realy have not heard about and dam not even sure the dutch had subs in that area to begin with so no real coment here.
Japan actualy sent a message to the us, encripted of corse 24 hr's before the attack but it was said to not have been decripted in time which I honestaly don't beleave but hey thats how the goverment said so they have to be right hehehehehhe. But hey again this is a nother case of yes they had the info but did not use it correctaly.
So I still say yes it was suprise attack but should not have been one is if the info was used correctaly. But hey it was not and in all honesty probaly for the better. Think about it, if it wa snot a suprise attack, who knows how the war might have gon. But I don't think the us would have gone at it as hard as they did. The attack cased the us to go after japan with a vengance.

Well m first thought dident they land o diffrent points on that rock, not all on the dark side. Dose anyone have a dam big telscope. Well yes we have a hell of a lot of them on earth. and hell one is space, so why can't we just turn one towards the moon and take a look. issue solved.
Now in all honesty I do beleave we landed there. The russans where ahead because they took many risks. There where countless acidents with russan rockets, most never made it big becasue russa realy wantedt to keep quiet. And the russans had a issue, there electronics where not miniterized like the us. Transisters and such. So they did have a lader designed but was grosealy to heavey to do anyhting. They where ahead but not as far as they wanted you to beleave. Evenafter the first moon landing the russans still wanted to get there but could never get the lander to good weight.
Now in all honesty I have seen the movie looked on the net and am quite impresed with the evadance against the landings. The main point is there not being a creater from the main burn jet on the lander. But for some reason I still beleave we did make it to the moon. But beleave it is worth study. So get some dsam high res pics og the moon , and check. Have say the russans send up a small satalite to check. I bet the russans would love to embarius the shit out of the states. So hey and hell ground based telescopes should see the lander bases. think about it they where sending TV signals to earth meaning they had a ling of sihgt to earth for the transmisions to go through. So hell get telscopes and find out. Also there are exact locations avable for the landings. So this realy should be a open and shut case. And yes some will say well maby they lander bases where sent up after the fact. Well then loook for al those dam foot prints and the jeep tracks from the rover thign they had. Loook for the us flag. If you see all that well it would be had to make all that unless you where there right

About Pearl Harbour, i didnt even realise there was a conspiracy to that. However in those days, communication systems were nowhere near as good as they are now so any theories about that could be easily shot down in flames i would think.
I have to admit tho, i do love conspiracy theories. I heard ones about Sept 11th, espeically about the fact of whether it was a Jet or a bomb-laden truck that hit the White House. These imho are utter b/s. The only thing that worried me about the Twin Towers was the explosion from, i believe, building 7 of the complex just before the towers fell, and I also read somewhere (i can find again if needed) about a guy who does structural demolitions for the Govt said live on radio as the buildings crumbled, that they didnt just fall and were 'brought down'. The guy later retracted everything and the Radio station removed all record of the guy being interviewed, however a website somewhere has the original transcript (and also a screenshot of the radio company's website with the incriminating interview).
As to the moon thing, Veg you are sooo right. I was going to raise that point myself but i didnt want to spoil it by putting everything in one post. Why dont they do the simple thing and give the Russians the co-ordinates for the part of the moon where they landed, and let them take pictures of the Lander and the flag etc. This simple procedure would prove once and for all that man did indeed make it, yet strangely there has been silence from NASA and the astronauts involved.
One more point. This was heralded as the greatest feat of man, and rightly so if it actually did happen. Given that it was such a great feat tho, and also relatively simplistic to achieve especially with today's technology, why have we not sent more guys up to the moon on spacewalks? I really dont believe that all the info to be gleaned from the moon was done in one visit. There are certain phenomena that occurs on the moon that scientists cannot properly explain, but yet which is attributed to most of the anomalies in the photos. Why not send a few guys back up to do some more work and research, especially since its almost 40 years since we were first there and things could have changed dramatically since then. I can only hazard a guess that they know we simply cannot make it there, or it would be at least proved that the materials or know-how required to do it were not prevalent in the 1960's and would therefore show that it did not happen.
I have to say tho that before, if someone would have told me they believed it, i would have laughed in their face and called them a fool! Having looked in to it myself a bit more and read some of the 'Yes we did make it' arguments, i am not quite as convinced as i was but am still reasonably sure it never happened. I think that, unlike the guns, this is a subject where i could be swayed tho

Actualy the moon is full of minerals and even now they say there is a large area of ice just under the surface near the northern reagon. Think aobut it you want to stage lauches to outer space why do it form earth, do it from the moon. Lot less gravity and easer to well lift big as thigns .... Would make a lot of snece to make the mooon well one bit pace station basicaly.

Errr Mav, okay point taken about future landings (although Veg did make a very good point to counter yours also). Im not a scientist so i wont argue with whether there is any benefit to a return trip.
However, you still cannot get away from the fact that they can easily prove this by giving an independent body the information needed for them to take satellite pics of the areas to show there was a presence there at some point. Not too difficult to do i would imagine, and the marketing opportunities from such a venture would be endless. Seriously tho, think of having just a few pics of the moon, totally barren and desolate as it is, and the only thing standing there being the Stars and Stripes! Without sounding tacky, but the fortune that could be made from posters, t-shirts, etc, etc as well as America being able to put it's 2 fingers up to the doubting world would be a massive boost for your country. It would also put paid to hundreds of conspiracy theories that people have invented just on the back of the fact they dont think for a second Neil Armstrong was there.
Oh and one more thing. To dismiss it as simply 'some idiot with a webpage' is bull and also complete ignorance. This is not just a website, there is actually an industry spawning out of this, and unless America comes up with the defining proof, the world is simply going to doubt it more and more as more people hear the conspiracy theories. I would love to believe it were true, that we can actually get that far cos there is then hope that one day we might go further. So in that respect, i would love to be proved wrong.

Ok, well I am realy not going to toss out the arguments, again they do make a dam good argument ans was interesting to watch. Now you say that this wouls have not been possable to do during the cold war, I don't agree. Do you know how many things the us / Russans have done during the cold war in secoreate . One example, the US hada multi milionare builkd a ship that looked like it was designed to search for oil or minerals in the ocean. But its real design was to raise a russan sub from the sea bead. How long was this a secoreate and in deception. A long time and they wher enever found out, they admited it years later. To bad they only got a piece of the sub or so they say. tut in all honesty I think that the story about the crain breaking may be false and they may actualy have a compleate sub. Would not suprise me in the least. Now this is a huge task to build a shit to raise a su. Ships are hard to hide an dam expensive. But they they did it and thye did many more projects like this.

Crop circles um yes and no. Yes there are hoxes for them but aparentaly the hoaxers break the stocks and are some what notacable. And still don't explain radiation readings from sights being some what high. And what hoaxer is dumb enough to carry a rod of uranum with them.
There are 2 groups , one trying to prove it the other disproving it. Is it all hoaxers, in all honesty it realy could be. But wouldent some have been cought in the act a few times considering the number required to do this world wite. these things sho up in canada, us england russa ......
So unkess all the crop circles are traced to hoaxers people well beleave there is somthing odd going on. Now if ailens cam here from billions of Km's why the hell would thye just imprent some crop circles and leave. Just don't seam right. But mind you seams perfect for goverment coverup. Black projects, making crop circles would be a good way to make people think its ailens
