Oh-No, Mercs follows MW3.
Remeber how in MW3 the unstoppable mech was the SC loaded up with 16MG's.
Well Mercs has just gone the same/similar. I've only seen this on Gladiators, Sunders and Daishi's so far but it'll spread (NovaCat would work with this).
Sunder config is this: 2x cRAC5's, 9x ER Med Pulse Lasers. Daishi and Gladiators configs are similar.
Trust me saw a guy get 38 kills in 30 minutes collisium with one so I copied his config and got 18 kills in 10 minutes.
Appears at the moment this config is limited to non team games and I'm not sure how much use it would get in Team matches as range is limited to roughly 300m

Has got to be a Helluva config if Mal endorses it.
I put 2 of those RAC puppies and a couple of ERLLs on my ever lovin Uziel last week. It did fine in the campaign, but I still don't see what the appeal is with them. Need some live targets. Wife broke off arm of my gaming chair this weekend, so I'll be back to playin as soon as I find some balin wire to mount my stick again.
AI's can fly! I saw one of hulk's Lancemates actually use JJ in campaign mission. I've been takin JJ off all my defaults cuz I've never seen an AI jump before. Wow, I'm impressed with the AI. The thought of a level 9 bot kinda scares me now.

seems there is a big heat bug for the ERLPL's
From DSC Forums:
Tried it on a 9 heatsink 6 ERLPL Gladiator. It works and well, was able to fire 10 times after heat reached 10k without blowing up. Shutdown for about 3-4 sec, powered up, then about 15 sec later (going full speed no less) i was again at 0 heat. Or if i had fliush, no need to shutdown even.
3 (before 10k heat) + 10 (after 10k heat) shots = 13 shots @ 27 damage each. 13 x 27 = 351 damage.
This is a mech that can put out 351 damage in less than 15 seconds without suiciding. It's insane.
To replicate what i personally did:
Host your own server.
Take a Gladiator with 6 ERLPLs, 9 heatsinks, 63 kph (or slower with more HS if you so wish).
When you spawn, go full speed, start shooting, when you reach red heat zone start continuously pressing shutdown override (turn off betty or she'll drive you mad with repetition), but don't stop firing.
Mark how many shots it took you to get to 10k heat (don't stop firing), should be three shots, then while you keep firing after you're reached 10k, count how many shots you were able to make before you suicided.
I'm able to make 3 shots before reaching 10k and 10 shots after. I suicide while making the 11th shot, so i shutdown RIGHT after the 10th one. If you cannot afford to shutdown, you must stop firing after the 9th shot and FLUSH to 8400k temperature or below ASAP.
Now repeat same with a bot to see how fast targets die.
Now go online and do same vs real people.
I'm going to test this out and see if it's ture.

ok...i'm running behind on posts etc, as i 've only just got back from uni. Re: the RAC, i think that once ppl have got past the whole 'mech sized mini guns....cool!!' idea, we'll c a decline in RAC boats. Nevertheless, i'm sure they have their place in the game. I'm gonna get the game, both to introduce some new and hopefully exciting elements to the game, and also to remain compatible with leagues etc.

Those RACs sound very annoying. I must upgrade my CPU and Motherboard, not to mention find out what is up wit hmy Soundcard. See my "HELP" Post if you can say anything to help me.
I would use reactive armor to help with the RACs that are being shot at you problem is reactive armor doesn't stand up too well to lasers, I prefer Ferro-fibrous armor, but if I get mercs I geuss I'll have to get over that.
