TD's Minis

Post by Tach Deneva »

Well, I finally got a digital camera. And what's the first thing I did with it? Took pics of Battletech minis, of course!

Anyway, here's a few of mine. 10 out of around 52 or so, including the infamous pink Grim Reaper. The Stinger and the Starslayer are among the first I painted. The Grasshopper is one of the latest. I've painted, stripped, and repainted that Phoenix Hawk several times - still not happy with it, but it'll do.

They're on my Geocities site, so of course there's gonna be those blankety blank popups.

The Victor is my second favorite mech. Is yours the VTR-9D or the newer one w/ a guass rifle?

I'm not sure about the one on the website, but I bought it at a hobby shop within the past three or four years. If memory serves, it was on a blue card.

I've got another Victor, a VTR-9B, still on the orange and black card (circa 1986). The right arm is slightly different (AC20), and it leans forward at the waist a bit more.

Side note - I had a vague idea of where the old Vic was (in one of the many boxes which still remain unpacked after last summer's move), so I looked for it there and found it... along with a bunch of other minis I'd forgotten about!

I found a Grand Crusader, a Charger, a Crossbow, another Chameleon, an Urbanmech IIC, and an old UMR-60 Urbanmech (on the orange and black card). I also found a Quickdraw in the closet. There may be others scattered about. Heh, it's like an Easter Mech Hunt!

The Marauder minis are almost identical, and are the same 'size', never mind that the Marauder is supposed to be 75 tons and the Marauder 2 is supposed to be 100 tons.

The M2 has a stubbier gun on top than the Marauder (what these guns are depends on the particular variant of each mech - the M2 pictured in the 3050 TRO has an LBX10, aka an LB 10-X), and the M2 also has what appears to be another gun or perhaps some sort of sensor equipment on the nose, even though there's no mention of what that might be in the 3050 TRO (which has the worst 'flavor text' of all the TROs, IMO). Also, the M2 has a pair of wing-like stabilizers on the side torsos, near the back - yup, the M2 has jump jets (and so does the Hellhound, dang it).

The Behemoth/Stone Rhino is a Smoke Jaguar 2nd line mech from the 3055 TRO, and was in Mw2: Ghost Bears Legacy (along with the Vixen/Succubus, another 2nd line Clan mech). It's supposed to have 2 Large Pulse Lasers, 2 Gauss Rifles, and a Small Pulse Laser, even though the mech LOOKS like it only has three big guns. It also has jump jets (3-5-3 movement).

I only have the one Stone Rhino, but I can take more pics of it (or any of the others). I also have the new 'Reseen' Marauder, assembled but unpainted.
