Demonstrations...

Post by Hades »

Today i watched the news and they showed some global demonstrations against the war on irak
they also showed some pics from the demonstrations here in sweden the thing i noticed was the demonstrations against war was mainly swedes and the demonstrations for a war was people who had lived in Irak
my point is that alot of demonstrators dont know what there talking about and they only see a small part the war on irak is mutch more then mass destruktion weaponds its also a war to liberate the people who lives in Irak

I think the thing that bothers me most is the people claiming this is about Americans wanting Iraqi oil and Americans wanting to kill muslims.

I think if we really just wanted Iraqi oil, we would push the UN to LIFT sanctions so we could just buy their oil - it would be a LOT cheaper than a war.

How quickly does everyone forget that we fought another war in Europe just a few years ago to prevent a "christian" from genocide-ing (sorry for the bad gerund Griffy) muslims. If we hadn't pushed NATO to act ... who knows where that would have ended.

I know we can't just believe everything we read in our press or hear from our leaders, but this is rediculous.

I'm not a war-monger, sometimes it's just necessary.

well, we do want the oil. that is just a fact of the modern world. i think since we puched for sanctions we can not simply just ask for them to be lifted so that we can have the oil. that would not be good politics. so we can take control of the country in other ways to have access to same oil... that is what a LOT of other countries do not like about American Imperialism - but hey, they do it to (if they can afford it that is...).

there is of course the human side of things, but i guarantee that is secondary and used as the reasoning behind other decisions/actions.

i know for sure we do NOT want to go kill Muslims... that is just was too far off base.
