Anyone Playing Age of Conan?

Post by Silk »

Broke down and bought it today. Heard mostly good about it, so decided to try it. Enjoyed the couple hours I played and was wondering if anyone else was playing it. Wanted to see about maybe hooking up with anyone, before I got to far.

Softball is our resident Conan nut ball here. He was even on bata testing. Some of us (Hondo, buff, Tach and myself) still doing city of heroes but have discussed conan.

Yes, I've been playing AoC since before release. I am on the Cimmeria (RP) server under the name "Lomak" or "Ledusa". I tend to switch between characters, so you can find me on either. I am the recruiting officer in our guild, so if you are thinking of playing and looking for a guild to join, give me a shout. I'm liking the game so far, but I find myself running solo quite a bit lately. Not that that's a bad thing. :)

Just FYI, the server is a full PvP server, and there are plenty of instances in the game, so you don't have to worry too much about PvP. There are certain areas (Major cities) where PvP is not enabled.

I'm still waiting for Funcom to activate the (5) Guest passes that I got with my Limited Edition, then I can invite people from here to try it out.

P.S. We are currently only allowing Aquilonian and Cimmerian races in the guild, so plan accordingly.

Oh come on you chicken, the PVP is really nothing to worry about. You fight, you win or lose, and if you lose, you respawn at a respawn point and continue on your merry way. It doesn't bother me, if it happens it happens. You don't lose any XP, gear, or money when you die, maybe just hurt your ego.

Well, so far, I've enjoyed AoC. Been playing on the PvP server and haven't run into any gankers as of yet. It's a pretty intense combat system. Very different from any other mmo I've seen, make you think.

P.S. How was the movie Softball?

Meh, Hancock was just "ok". I'd have to say wait for the rental if you have been wanting to see it. Some parts were funny, but for the most part it was a yawner.

Next up is "Get Smart"...

There are only 2 must-see movies left for me this Summer.

The X-Files and Dark Knight.

Been checking out AoC's forums, General Discussion, specifically, and... uh... damn. See for yourselves:

Evidently, a lot of people are expecting a 'make or break' patch on July 9th.

Oh, and based on the anecdotal evidence, Funcom's phasing out the boobies! Oh, noes!

Ok well buff will not be getting this game then

In all honesty why spend time adding them in only to edit them out soon after game release. But this is somthing I have seen in several games, items exist right in the beginning then withen weeks they are gone of modifyed for some reason. Why spend time on it if its not going to be kept around

I saw Wall-E a couple weeks ago and really enjoyed it. I loved all of the 2001 references in the movie.
