This guy is a genius. I have 2 of his tricopters flying. One of them for around 4 years. I tihnk the first video is his most current build.

Quad parts, a lot of these parts are out of stock atm. Usually you want to try and order stuff from the US Warehouse as it's much cheaper because shipping from China is very expensive. The board isn't currently available in the US though. That usually means they are coming out with a new version.

buy extras if this for extra arms.

or if you want a little more agility but less efficiency

These motors are great but they don't mount neatly on that cheap frame, however with 11x4.7 props I get 15 minute flight times. Very efficient and a great heavy lifter. However that frame also doesn't allow 11 inch props as it doesn't have the prop clearance. Yo can always make a frame out of fiberglass paneling and wood arms though.

Props for the 1200KV should be 8x4.7. Usually we buy black and a light color like green. You mount the Green props on the back and you fly the copter tail in to you so that your controls don't need to be reversed when referencing the copter. We also add LEDs etc to help with orientation at a distance.

Props for the 900KV should be 10x4.7.

You would run the 1200kv on a 4 cell and the 900kv on a 3 cell lipo, usually 3000-4000mah. No need to worry about C rating at that size.

You'll want to be a little familiar with soldering and there are a couple other things to worry about like battery connectors and wiring harnesses but you can buy one or I can tell you how to make one.

There are also many different flight boards, the KK is just very easy to use and cheap.
