Getting the band back together!

Post by Bronurstomp »

Welcome back Slamhammer! Missed ya buddy. I'm getting excited by the thought of playing MW again. We're getting the band back together!?!?! Woooot!
I think I remember seeing my CDs around somewhere. I still have a 3D joystick as well.
I've been promising myself a new computer this year. I have a grand saved up so far... any suggestions? By the way, will MWIV run on Vista or should I stick with XP-Pro?
Get this: I have a new roomate, and he just bought a 61" DLP HD TV!
We got it hooked up to his computer and tried playing CallofDuty2. OMG what a riot! Now to get the big surround sound system and subwoofer installed. This should rock hard.

LMAO @ CougarMech. How many years has it been bro. Good to see ya man.. Now if we can get GlasCelts in here too… that guy was the coolest. : )

Ah Hem, I have MW4 , I might have Merc too, need to have a look-see. I still have my old CH game stick that Fether wishes he had, Muahahahah. I dropped a few months ago but I didn’t have a wing man , so I was lonely. Or was that a year ago ? Time fly’s huh. Anyways , if you guys are gonna drop let me know.

I will only play the Black Knight Map Patch and regular MW4 map patch. Just like ole times. That’s as far as I’ll go, no need to add several patches just to play this thingy. There were some earlier post about this topic about a year ago in the ELH Thread , so have a lookie and post up again if you wanna drop for some mech Bashing. Psssssst, Don’t tell BH, he’ll just mop you guys up on the battle field. :)

Hey Brons , I heard that Vista doesn’t make a good gaming platform. Although I haven’t tried MW4 MERC on it yet so it’s had to say. I’m currently running a dual boot on my computer with XP on one drive and Vista on the other. After reading some post on the net , they said it’s not a good idea because Vista will lose it restore option every time you load XP.

I’ve had this set up for several months now with no problems yet. I also can play a PC game on XP one day , then load up Vista the next day and keep playing where I left off. .Via Versa with Vista. I can play a game in Vista and continue it with XP. I guess what I read on the internet had do something with Restore options on Vista on a dual boot. I know , not much help but good luck man , I think it should work fine on single player games , M.P. might be another story. Trial and error.

P.S.

Shop Newegg. I upgraded my computer there for only a buc 25. I used my old 1.8GHZ CPU and got me a new mobo with Saphire graphics card and used my old ram. I hear you'll need 2ghz or higher on your CPU to play the latest games.

It took me the longest time to find a new motherboard that would accommodate my old CPU with a PCIE instead of my old AGP. Finally got it worked out. Shop before you buy and make sure you get what you want. I honesty don’t play games that much anymore , I can surf the internet just fine with my old AMD 330 T-Bird. Last game I played was Crysis, thank god for my new cheap set up. Thank You Newegg!

Yeah tis crazy. I was reading through all the old post and stuff and had lots of good memories come rushing back. Its really cool to see everyone still communicating..or is it just because Falker has no life and has been camping these boards all these years? Heheh ;)

I am playing WoW and EQ 2 currently, trying AoC though am getting pretty bored with it.

And yeah I joined you guys just doing the Mech Commander thing, but eventually had to get into MW as well...wasn't quite as good at the shooty mechy as the commandy mechy, but it was great fun. I know for a fact that I don't have any of my mechwarrior CD's, I wonder if I could find them somewhere...

I finally loaded up Mech Commander 2 today. It’s been a few years but “Wow “ I’ve forgotten how fun this was. I was salvaging Mechs after an easy battle. Then back to the Mech lab for re-arming. I think what I liked most about this game was the characters. . “ This is Lynx , I ‘m taking fire here“ .... Or ....” This is longshot , I’m punching out! “ They even had a character named Steel. We rescued him from a prison. He said he was tired of fighting for House Steiner. Several hours later I realized it was getting late so I put down the key-board.

Hi guys,

I'm playing World of Warcraft too Cougy. I have a few characters on Gilneas server. Look for Zietrick(70th Hunter) or Wrendrake (70th Druid) and of course Bronurstomp... 21st Warrior. All my chars are Alliance.

they did, but i think you mean netmech 4? i am not sure if the netmech updating still works or not, i think it does. they are working on a whole new program, not sure how far along they are.

an alternative might be to check out the battletech simulator - a couple of folks here have.

yes, MC2 source was released. that is not the same as 'getting' it for free... :)

Most of the Mech Commander free sites have closed down. However: There are few Torrent Sites still up an running. I expect this is just a link to one of your favorite P2P clients. So don’t count on it. I’d try Ares P2P if your interested. I’ve been using this one for several years and it Still has no bugs.

If Steel approves it I can upload a Win-RAR of MC2 to RLG. I think It’s only about 650MB , so it’s not that big. It was for free at one time or another so I think so it should be okay.

Oh yeah , I salvaged a Mad Cat after battle the other day. Sweet. … I took it to the mech lab and cleaned it up a bit. Although clan Mechs seem to get picked on more than Inner Sphere Mechs whilst on a mission.

Lol at Brons. Did Rapunzel let down her hair and let you climbed up to save the her from the dark knight. Whatever makes your fancy. :)

I could never consider getting into that unless there was an alien up in the tower. Bah… I’ve read too many Sci-Fi books to get into that aspect of gaming. It seems like it would go on forever building up your character. I never got my feet wet playing WOW , so … Though I did like Excalibur very much.
