Ah good idea. When Jedi and I played last night we had pirates turned off. I had two capital ships and one got up to rank 5 and the other one was rank 4.

Well I went ahead and purchased the license which comes with a download version of the game (will save that for a if I really loose my cd).

My trick to ramp up my Cap ships lvl's is to get them in skirmishes with other races cap ships as quickly and as often as possible. When your fleet destroy's a Cap ship or Frigate and one or more of your Cap ship's participated or in the gravity well of the battle then you will get point's toward the next level (the early levels is one destroyed enemy cap per level). The highest level I have achieved is 10.

Now I also think they should seriously consider bridging the gap between the CAP (BATTLESHIPS/CARRIERS) and the frigrates. There is just to big of a gap between the two. They should do something like Homeworld, BattleShips Frigates Destoryers etc. Good mix, and they should not limit how many ships you can have in a fleet. If your playing a large 120 planet multiple star system game and you own half of the main system and a portion of atleast one of the outlying systems then you are stretched thin as hell trying to defend all that space.
