Grif,
just need to know if your system is AGP or PCIE? i am pretty sure it is PCI-E, so the 8800GTX would work for you too.

Well, my Desktop is an AGP, but I'm no longer using my desktop. My laptop has an integrated vid card that is not supported by the game. So, I need to upgrade my laptop or get a new desktop; unfortunately I'm not doing either. I have some huge expenses coming up this year.

so you just do not answer his question? ugh!
i am having fun just doing drop after drop. mechs are limited right now, but still enough variation to go around. we could group, but am having a difficult time getting anyone but Oshay to send and respond to friend requests. as a group on teamspeak we could probably dominate, but it would be more fun to drop against other groups. there is somewhat of a grind saving enough c bills to buy your own mech, and you cannot gain experience to spend on skills unless you use your own mech. there is only tactical capability in the game right now, no strategy like planets, contracts, etc. graphics are pretty good, but mechs do not damage the environment and walk through trees, trucks, etc and just bounce off of buildings. not sure if/how that would change in the future.

And I have not had time to play in the last few weeks at all. In process of selling and buying house. Good news is that the our town house is sold firm and we have our new place bought. So its now just wait for move in date which is nov 22.
As for the game, its changed a lot since I first got into beta. New mechs and maps are being rolled out slowly, but whats there is fun. visually the game looks great, ammo explosions are fun to watch ripping apart a mech. Unfortuently the repair costs make it a game where you will have to pick and chose a few mechs to live with. It takes time to grind out some cash. But with the demo mechs you always can play in a brand new stock mech (list of 4 total at any given time). So makes this game diffident then previous Mechwarrior games. But means you pick a few mechs and master the buggers.
the new pc gamer magazine that just came out has a writeup on the game (and code for bobble head and mech skin) that also goes over the community warfare thats planed for next spring to be launched.
