So after the polls close and all the ballots are counted 300,000 times and each sides lawyers files a forest of motions. We should know who the next President will be by what Christmas, hell January 12th at the latest. LoL!!!! PDT_Armataz_01_12 PDT_Armataz_01_11 PDT_Armataz_01_14 PDT_Armataz_01_09 Yes I am worried that my local news for the next month or two will be full of post election coverage.

I'm not saying its impossible but I highly doubt the results of this election will be as close as the one we had in 2000.

This is true, but I am refferring to the legal shenanigans both sides will obviously employ to get their way.

Neither side will try it though if the election has a clear cut winner. Back in 2004, some lawyers for John Kerry tried to convince him to fight the results in Ohio but he wisely chose not to. Bush ended up winning Ohio by just over 400,000 votes and trying to sue in court over that margin of victory would have been perceived as rash by most people.

WELL WE HAVE OUR NEW PRESIDENT AND IT WAS A LANDSLIDE. I feel sorry McCain only because he will be forever know as that guy that gave the whitehouse away, just like in baseball that pitcher that gave Babe Ruth his 60th homerun or that guy that gave Roger Maris 61 etc. Someone had to do it but nobody wants it to be them.

What are you talking about? Almost all the pundits and analysts said that McCain had little to no chance of winning. They all basically had the sentiment that this was Obama's election to lose and he would only lose it if he made some serious fatal error.

Yes everyone knew the outcome but not by a landslide. I do believe that the new President received the most Electoral college votes in history (jury is still out since I am trying to find the official count for electoral college votes through out history).

that "honor" likely goes to Reagan over Mondale in '84.
