The boards are real quiet these days - hope this is just a lull before the storm:
Steal Beasts Pro PE
Ghost Recon 3
Armed Assault
Falcon4 AF (ongoing improvements)
Fighter Ops (maybe!?)
. . . and anything else I may have missed.

SB Pro PE is out, but who knows how many of us will get it? The high price is a barrier.
GR3--after the Lockdown fiasco, and the GR2 fiasco before it, I'm not optimistic.
Fighter Ops--not this year.
F4:AF--yes, another patch is coming.
Armed A--this year sometime...
I don't know of anything else this year...

Hmmm..we hardly manage to ever get together for the few games we have NOW. I don't see anything changing just because more games are coming out this year!
I'll definitely be getting Armed Assault but I doubt if I'll be getting GR 3 or Steel Beasts Pro. I'll at least play the demos for those games assuming they are available at some time. I also will probably skip on Fighter Ops unless the reviews for the game are positive across the board and if a demo is made available for me to try out.

With work and the business, I have had little to no time to play games. Since I have got my copy of SB Pro PE, I have played maybe 2 hours total, about 1 hour each night. I haven't even finished the Tutorial missions. I am really liking SB Pro PE so far, I always liked the first SB sim, and SB Pro PE is just as good and even better.
SB Pro PE - Check, got it.
GR3 - Delayed....again. Will wait for reviews on this one.
ArmA - 110% sure I will be getting this one, the waiting sucks tho.
Falcon 4:AF - I still like flying this, wish we flew it more. *hint hint*
Fighter Ops - Believe it when I see it. I would say they are still a good year away from release at least.
Any you missed?
- Enemy Territory: Quake Wars - Summer release. Looks promising, MP like BF2, no bots, Futuristic quake setting.
- Swat 4 Expansion - Out soon
- Medieval 2: Total War - Out later this year hopefully
- The Regiment - Game is out, not too bad so far. Very fast paced.
- Operation Flashpoint 2 - 2007/2008 release? A must get IMO.

i was doing some research on the GR3 business -- especially after what happened to GR2. One thing I saw is that there are 3 different devs working the game. There is a X360 dev (RSE), there is an XBox/PS2 dev (Ubi) and there's a PC dev (GRIN). Seeing as it's at least 3 completely different games, I'm more optimistic than if they were just trying to port one of the console versions.
As stated by others, the demo will be revealing.

Lockdown has been seriously "consolized" and dumbed down in comparison to Raven Shield and Rogue Spear.

Except the Lockdown console version also got trashed! They went so far even the R6 console fans disliked it. They seriously delayed the PC version, ostensibly to overhaul it for the PC crowd. Then when it comes out we find that very little was changed aside from some graphics improvements and the removal of the universally panned sniper levels.
Will GR3 for PC be overhauled so that it's NOT like Lockdown? I'd like to hope so, but my gut tells me it's too late and Ubi has killed everything with Tom Clancy's name on it except for Splinter Cell.

i have not found the demo to be so bad... what, really, are the differences?

It's not a total loss then, because SC is one of those games that seems to show a real drive an innovation, particularly from what i've seen of the upcoming release, where you start in a very different manner to the previous games.
Still if they screw GR3 into the groud, i'll be pissed off, because GR1 was a genius game, and i eagerly awaited GR2, only to have it whisked away.

Yes, GR1 was my inception to the online community, albeit using 56K (which sucked ass!). Having said that, I was hooked once I started here. And as many have said before and since - I can't truely imagine playing offline anymore except for practice/training.
