Hey everyone,

I was browsing around and it was good to see Steel/Grifter/Softball and the rest of the regulars still here. Its been a long time!

Just thought I'd let everyone know that on Friday, I commissioned as a 2nd Lt in the United States Air Force. I'm reporting to Randolph AFB (San Antonio TX) on 5 June for navigator training. I'm hoping to get C-130's.

Been looking forward to it my whole life...its still hard to believe that I'm a military officer now. Its a bit scary!

I've got a few pictures, and can have more if you want. In both of these, I'm in the top row, third from the left.

Talking of AirForce officers, we just lost the first female combatant from the Iraq conflict. Very sad. I personally accept her as an equal in her role within the military as a combatant. But it's sad, in that we always see ourselves as the protectors of the fairer sex. :(

Congrats Kamikazi!! Well done, *SALUTE*.

Good to hear from ya, it's nice to see a familiar name again. Hope everything works out for you, good luck with your training. Maybe one day you'll get to do a fly-over at an airshow or something.

Keep us updated with your progress.

Thanks guys. I figure I won't be mission-ready for almost another two years from now.

Not sure how impressive a C-130 flyby is, unless we're throwing crap out the back

Thanks for the support.

I'm sure we'd all prefer to see some 'heavys' coming off on drop palettes, but a few marines would suffice - but no chutes, otherwise it just wouldn't be fun!

They should have a C-130 flyby for a Nascar race. That would absolutely rule!!
