Nothing unusual here really, they're at it all the time. But today, someone screwed-up! Fight's on . . . . . .LOL!

This has always been the scenario NATO REALLY worried about--if Turkey and Greece take the gloves off. Who do you support when it's one member vs another?? If Turkey gets attacked, would the Greeks actually fight to help them, or vice versa?
However, according to reports the higher levels aren't going to let this get blown out of proportion. This was 1 or 2 pilots making a mistake, which in one instance proved fatal, not a prelude to a wider conflict.

Oh no, you're certainly right there. This isn't going to be a war. They'll have a stand-off, say their peace to keep the general public happy, and go back to normal. We get this sort of mentality daily on the Green Line when on tour in Cyprus. This will simply be an ego contest in the air for a few weeks, before cooling off again.
My guess is the protagonists for the main part will be the side who didn't get their pilot back alive. His flying buddies will be looking for an excuse to bloody someone's nose.
They deserve each other as far as I am concerned.
