Two F-16's engaged Zarqawi's house with two 500 lb. bombs.

It saddens me ground forces didn't get the chance, but at least one of our favorite aircraft got to take part... :D

A GBU-12 and a GBU-38 took him down.

Recent reports indicate that he survived the bombing and was then killed?! I don't know, only heard a fraction of the briefing. Best to look into this story again.

Yes, we have the same report circulating over here - except instead of stating that he was killed after, it states he died later. If you see the difference.

I see the difference, and they are reporting the same now, but he was still killed by them. He just got killed by concusion as opposed to flame. Meh. He's still dead. :D

Yes, but dying of his wounds suffered from an airstrike being somewhat more acceptable than getting executed in a quiet corner after the fact, eh? Not that many of us would really care though. But politically it might be a shade unsound shall we say.

Shoot, if I was there I might have done it myself.

I always say, "I'll have a positive impact on this planet. Failing that I will leave a massive impact crater on it instead."

And that's my saying. Stole it from no one and no one can steal it from me.
