I would just like to wish all American cousins a wonderful Independence Day. May there be many of those.

Thank you Kodiak. We Americans only have George Washington and the French to thank for the holiday.

Actually, today has been very eventful. Italy beats Germany in the World Cup tournament, the space shuttle lifts off successfully from Cape Canaveral, some eccentric dictator launches 3 missiles into the Sea of Japan and we're celebrating our Independence in the US.

Happy 4th of July everyone!

I have watched the first 6 episodes of Band of Brothers today, man do I LOVE that movie/series. I'm taking a little break from DVDs now, but BoB has to be one of my all time favorite war movies/series. They did a very nice job putting that together, I can't wait for the next BoB movie/series.

Someone should make a Band of Brothers series from the German perspective. That could be very interesting to watch if it's done well. It could be called something like "Kampfgruppe der Brudern".

Actually My Great , Great , Great , Great Grandfather was one of the Frenchmen who came over here as a French soldier to lend a helping hand back then. And I still have his last name to remind me of it . Oddly enough he wedded an English woman and settled down over here.

That shuttle went up fast. They said it hit over 14000 mph just before it went out of the atmosphere. Nice camera view . I thought it took off the launch pad fairly quick that time in comparison to some other previous launches. I wonder if they upgraded the rockets.

Nice to see it back up and running again.

I saw B.o.B. 1 through 6 on the History Channel over Memorial Day Weekend. I was waiting for the next time they started it up again so I can finish watching it. Although here I thought I was half way done watching it , but according to the web page there are several more to watch.

I think it would be best to see it from the beginning so you can enjoy it better . If you just come in to watch it on different episodes now and than , than it wont be the same because there is a good story line to it that’s need to be seen and understood.

Happy Independence Day :!:

Happy 4th

Happy 4th. The dorkiest way to celebrate for sure:

Drunken revelers, free ale from all the casks, fireworks, elves dancing on tables, dwarves passed out everywhere, doesn't get better...

4th WoW Video

Post by Hudson »

This is an Xvid of WoW from yesterday. Gives an idea of what the game is like, graphics and interface wise. No sound, no fighting, just the fireworks, people casting spells, and being screwy in the city...

http://www.montleon.com/4thXvid.avi

You will need the XviD codec to watch it...
Unlike the stupid pay-to-encode DivX codec you can encode with the Opensource XviD codec freely.
http://www.xvid.org/

And that brings up Hudson's other random tip of the day; if you're using FRAPS, you might want to look into VirtualDub (along with the Xvid codec) This file was 3.12GB as saved by FRAPS. This info actually comes off the FRAPS FAQ (although they suggest DivX rather tahn XviD, but just by encoding it with VirtualDub/Xvid it was brought down to a sane 99.5MB....
Just File>Open, choose the FRAPS avi, Video>Compression, choose the XviD Codec, and then File>Save As and choose a name. Simple as that.
