i had a motorcycle accident last sat. i broke both clavicles. the right break is giving me fits. i am able to type somewhat decently, but even slower than normal... i have difficulty with the mouse due to how i have my right arm supported and right shoulder immobilized (a LOT better than that stupid figure 8 splint the doctors use).

i am o.k. otherwise - a few cherries on my legs. went to work for a couple hours on Tue after my Ortho appt., been doing some mild e-mail on Wed and starting to pick it up today. i might go in for a few hours tomorrow...

i am not sure what it means for gaming, we shall see...

It could be worse, this is actulay real, happaned to a family friend

Basiclay car crash, only thing that saved his life was the fact he was a stones throw from the hospitable. So a year and change go buy, body casts and all the fun thigns you can think of, he is finealy basiclay healed and mobile but still living in the hospitable. He was going mad in there and finelay they let him go for a weekend. He was in canadian airforce, so he went to the base, found his stough including his bike all crated up as well no one expected him to live, so was ready to ship home. He got his motercycle out and went for a spin. but well um ya he defentlay was not in great shape of anythign and did not make that nice turn, and ended up back in a body cast for another 9 months, and I beleave thats actulay what got him the replacment hip, not the first car crash. He became the butt of a lot of jokes from family and friends

So ya could be a lot worse, hope you feal better SOON man, and hope the story made you feal a bit better.

Holy shit dude, I'm sorry to hear that you were in an accident. I hope that you're feeling better soon. In any case, I'm glad you're alive, breathing, and cognizant.

Whoa, that SUCKS. I guess you have a good reason to cut back at work now, though. So there's your silver lining! Too bad you can't enjoy it more.

Well it's good to see you made it. I hope your healing process goes well. Taking a shower probably sucks tho. Maybe the best thing is being doctored up by your wife while laying in bed with the remote.

I've had 5 motorcycles in the past. I crashed my fist One ( A Ninja 250 ) about 18,.... almost 20 years ago. I was being stupid and it left permanent scars on my left side. Mostly on my arm , but it's healed up nicely now. You wouldn't even know it was there unless I brought it up in a drunken conversation.

Today I've got no bikes. Last one I had was a Ninja 900 and man that was a death bike. I sold it to pay off my income taxes due about 5 years ago. I still have a nice helmet but no bike to go with it. Next time I'd like to get one of those easy riders, like a honda night hawk or something. No more bullet bikes for me, It's too crowded around here with lots of crazy drivers to boot.

Dang Steel, sorry to hear about your accident man. I've been wondering why you haven't been around this week. I hope you have a speedy recovery. I'm curious to hear the details of the accident, but would understand if you don't wish to share it.

This doesn't help me in my bid to get a motorcycle of my own, my wife thinks they're too dangerous. Yea, they are dangerous, but so is driving in a car, flying a plane, walking across a street, etc... After hearing of your accident, I'm sure she will veto any MC purchases. :(

Get well buddy, I'll call you tomorrow in regards to my PM.

thx guys. doing much better since yesterday - looks like things are healing quickly. i got my right shoulder stabilized to keep the bones from rubbing together...

you can get in a car accident just as easily. you are not as vulnerable though.

i was on an unfamiliar street that has globs of concrete dropped from cement trucks at a nearby cement plant. like hittinh a curb. i was even taking it easy, nice and slow on a nice day... my laptop survived quite well, even though one side of it has a side filed down from the slide (through the backpack).

Glad to hear you're ok mate.
I used to work in the motorcycle and car security industry a couple of years ago, and a customer called to order and alarm/immobiliser system for his new bike. The reason he had a new bike? He'd slid the old one (a Honda Fireblade) into a lampost, so hard that the front forks we pretty close to the rear wheel. The guy had similar injuries to you Steel, in that he broke both clavicles, but he also has a broken arm, leg, wrist, fractured hip, and 90% soft tissue damage. As he was ok, i tried to lighten the mood with a joke (as some sales people will), and he asked me not to make him laugh as it hurt too much. The new bike? A Suzuki Hyabusa, at the time, the fastest production bike available...bikers, don't you just love them!! :)

yeah - still hurts a bit to laugh or cough... my ribs/chest were a bit bruised as well...

all good thought. the hayabusa may have gotten a challenge from the kawi zx14r...but for fast look at the triumph rocket 3. not a crotch rocket, but in a straight line...

I used to love the old Suzuki GSXR 750 with a hot babe whearing a tight black G-String riding on the back. Man I was so wanting one! Never happened tho. :)

Moose!

I'm going to haft to come over there and terrorize the 151 forum if you guys don't post up here more often!
I still remember my PW. Last I went through there I saw BH was still keeping good company a few month ago.

Mate, i still check these forums most days...we've actually set up a new website/forum for WoW though, which is why the 151 forum might not be getting as much love as it's used to...still has regular gems of insanity though :)
