All I can say is that I'm feeling really cheerless at the moment because This is THE best show on Television IMO and I looked forward to seeing new episodes all the time. I’ve been watching it ever since it aired in Show Time and than moved to the SciFi Channel. The show gave me something to look forward to ever week and brought some meaningful fulfillment to my life every Friday night. It’s SG1 Time! It’s a well produced show with a stylish performance by the cast and crew that’s always intriguing to watch.

However I figured it had to come to an end sooner or later with the spin off series of SG-Atlantis and Colonel O'Neil retiring. It was just a matter of time and thankfully it didn’t happen all too soon. The good news is , is that we have one more season to watch that from what I hear is still in the making and will episode in March 2007. Hopefully it will have some decent closure. With any luck you just might see SG1 and planet Earth from time to time whilst watching SG-Atlantis , seeing how SG1 and SG-Atlantis intertwine occasionally.

SG-1 Ends Run; Atlantis Back

SCI FI Channel confirmed that it will not renew its record-breaking original series Stargate SG-1 for another season, but will pick up its spinoff series Stargate Atlantis for a fourth year. SG-1 aired its 200th episode on Aug. 18, and the SF series is the longest-running SF show on American television.

SCI FI issued the following statement on Aug. 21: "SCI FI Channel is proud to be the network that brought Stargate SG-1 to its record-breaking 10th season. Ten seasons and 215 episodes is an astounding, Guinness World Record-setting accomplishment. Stargate is a worldwide phenomenon. Having achieved so much over the course of the past 10 years, SCI FI believes that the time is right to make this season their last on the channel. SCI FI is honored to have been part of the Stargate legacy for five years, and we look forward to continuing to explore the Stargate universe with our partners at MGM through a new season of Stargate Atlantis."

Stargate SG-1, developed for television by executive producers Brad Wright and Jonathan Glassner, is based on the 1994 feature film Stargate. SG-1, which originally starred Richard Dean Anderson, Michael Shanks, Amanda Tapping and Christopher Judge, began on Showtime, then moved to SCI FI after five seasons. The current cast includes Tapping, Shanks and Judge and newcomers Ben Browder, Claudia Black and Beau Bridges. It airs Fridays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

The funny thing is I think they'd planned on S8 being the last one, and Atlantis picking up the torch. Then they got Browder to replace Anderson and the show did well still. So, they got a 2-season deal for apparently the first time ever (it had been all 1 at a time prior) for seasons 10 and 11...and SFC pulls this crap just to break the record.

It's all my fault. If I hadn't started watching it, it would keep on going forever and ever.

I plan on starting Stargate season 1 within the next few weeks. Let's just say that I have been catching up on a LOT of sci-fi tv shows over the past 3 years. In that time I've watched all of Babylon 5, Crusade, Firefly and I'm almost done with season 7 of the X-Files. I'll be starting Battlestar Galactica soon as well.

Gate expectations: Stargate SG-1 okayed for two films

TV GUIDE reports: Stargate SG-1 may be winding down its 10-year-run this spring, but here's some exciting news for its fans. MGM has granted a green light - and enough money - to produce two movies, most likely for DVD, executive producer Brad Wright tells TV Guide.

The first flick will tie up most of the finale's loose threads - "It's the climax of the Ori story line" - and will be written-directed by exec producer Robert Cooper. The second film, penned by Wright, will involve time travel, and both projects should debut in the fall of 2007. Though no deals are signed, SG-1's stars are said to be "very eager" to continue.

"They're not big-budget [films] by any definition, but for us it's pretty good," says Wright. "As we've proven over the years, just give us little more money and we can make pretty good television, or DVDs."

"There's a sense of an era for us ending," Wright continues, "but at the same time, we're all positive because of the prospect of continuing forward with movies and the introduction next year of Stargate Worlds, a massive multiplayer online game."

What I'm concerned about, really, is that they may not air the end of S10; at least, that's what Jedi has suggested. I hope he's wrong. I really don't have the money to go out and buy the ending of a season that started on television. That's just greed on Sci-Fi's part.

No, I can't imagine them not showing the end of S10. They haven't shown the end of Atlantis' season yet either.
The issue was that S10's finale won't finish anything because I think they'd finished filming it (or were close to it) when SFC announced their dump. So, no time to wrap anything up.
In effect, this is IDENTICAL to the crap they pulled with Farscape.
