Babylon 5

I am currently watching Babylon 5 on DVD, and I am currently on Season 3. I can't stop watching the show now, as the more I watch the more that is revealed and the more I want to keep watching.

I was sitting here watching an episode last night and I was looking at Delene and I was thinking "She sure is familiar". Her character has really grown on me, she has done an amazing job in B5. So, I thought I would look up the actress who plays Delene and I was looking through her Bio and saw that she plays the role of Danielle Russo on the show "LOST". I was very surprised to read that. You see I had never seen B5 before I had seen "LOST", so seeing her on "LOST" didn't phase me until now.

I also did some research on other characters and found a few interesting connections. The actor who plays Lennier (Minbari Protoge') is the child actor that played Will Robinson on Lost in Space in the 60's. And anyone who has seen Star Trek and B5 will certainly recognize the actor that plays Chekov on ST. I looked up his Bio and saw that he was in his 60's during the filming of B5. He seemed much younger.

ANyway, I am loving the show so far and I will probably be dissapointed when it's all over. Like I was with Firefly.

Bab 5 has a lot to offer. Yes, a lot of high caliber "B" actors made that show worthwhile, and they've gone on to do other things. Take the guy who plays G'kar for example. He was well established before he joined the show.

That's great to hear that you are enjoying B5 so far. The show really hits its stride during season 3 and season 4 is simply brilliant. The first season certainly has a few rough spots in it but it only gets better from there. Dont forget to to watch the B5 tv movies as well after you finish the 5th season. Part of what makes B5 unforgettable to me is that most of the main actors BECAME their characters. I think everyone here would agree that Katsulas was brilliant as G'kar and the same goes for Jurasik as Mollari, Boxleitner as Sheridan, Christian as Ivanova and Koenig as Bester.

Let me know when you finish season 5 and tell me what you think of the series finale.

I need to buy these dvd's. I watched the entire series on tv, hell multiple times lol. but its not on any more, at least on the canals I have. but the cost of the 5 seasons just sucks lol, 50$ per season best I have seen, and thats 250 before tax OUCH.

but its a series that has such a long running and well written story line.

He played Tomalak on ST:TNG, the one-armed man in the film version of the Fugitive, etc.

Forgot to tell you I saw another B5 actor on TNG (before B5 started of course). Pat Tallman (aka Lyta Alexander) was a security officer on a season 5 episode.
I see now she's in 2 more episodes in other roles, was in 2 DS9 episodes in different roles, plus a Voyager episode, all done during B5!

I wathched B5 for about three seasons and then it fell by the way side as i kept missing it, but i just ofund out that a mate of mine in work has the complete set on DVD so i immediately asked to borrow it from him season by season so i can watch it all from begining to end.

It was a really great Sci-Fi series.

When taken as a whole, I think it's the best because it got to finish and do everything it set out to do while trying to do more than any show before it.
None of the ST series were nearly as ambitious.
Later shows that have tried that, like Firefly or BSG, either stopped or haven't finished yet.
BSG is definitely in the running to surpass B5, but we won't know until the ride is over! :)

No BSG is not good, its GREAT, yeash get it right PDT_Armataz_01_12

In all honesty b5 and BSG are some of the only series I would actuality sit down and watch. I like other series, but very rarely is there one that I just have to watch. Another is FireFly (DAM you fox).

Firefly is great. Simon is by far my favorite character. I like his smug intellectualism.

I have to admit I like JAYNE COBB as a character in FireFly. He can be dumb as a brick at times, and its funny, but if you need a guy who can get the job done, he is defentlay it. but ther eis not a character I don't like in that show. I have the DVD set already, just need to sit down and watch it. hope the Dog like s Sci-Fi (he an't got a choice relay).
