Just ordered this camera today. We wanted to get a high quality, "compact" digital camera that was easier to take with us to our Airbrush shows, travelling, etc.. I paid a little over $400 ($418 incl s/h, out the door) for the camera, a 2GB SD Card, a USB 2.0 card reader, Carrying case, and lens cleaner solution from Beachcamera.com.

Our current digital camera Kodak Z7590 is a bit on the bulky side, but it has some professional features that the cheaper digital cameras do not allow (complete manual shutter and aperature control for example). The Kodak is a fantastic camera, but we wanted something smaller and more convenient.

I did some extensive research on this camera, and decided that this was the one we wanted. If the new camera performs well, we may decide to sell the Kodak. We'll see.

Anyone else here have any opinions on digital cameras? Preferences? Experiences?

Looks like a SWEET toy man

My family has been using this series of Cannon cameras for years (at least 3 in the family, different model numbers but always the A series)

Not that exact model in the family but in that Powershot A### series, basically same shape but different stats. With My father, Brother and me having big fingers that thing with its shape is easy to hold and deal with. We have loved the quality, and the features of this camera. The one you have picked is the line above this, smiler stats but seams to be a bit more compact and some other minor differences. But I have always loved the Cannon cameras and never had issues, so I am sure you will love yours in the end as it looks like a sweet toy.

My OLD Toshiba camera I have is due a replacement soon as I got it back when the 3mp camera was 400 $ + range, and I got this on a door crasher at 250$. Its a great camera but its bulky compared to the A series and your SD series. I Well defiently be looking at the Cannon for my next camera, again in the SD or A series.
