Why is that? Is it a money issue? Availability Issue?
I have the 7900 GTX 512MB, I'm pretty sure the 7900GS is a slower speed card, I just don't know how much. Make sure whatever card you go with is a ShaderModel 3.0 or higher card. That seems to be the "must have" nowadays.

looks cool but no thanks. I am waiting for ATI to turn around and realy come out with soem sweet toys. They are owned by AMD now and the transition is whats slowing thigns down. But when they get some new toys, ATI may be worth t then. 4 years ago when I got my currnt system ATI was kicking nvidias ass but for NOW stick with nvidia.

I just got a X1950 Pro 512MB, because I wanted to keep my current mobo and so I was limited to AGP cards.
I've found out there may well be an X1950XT AGP card coming out soon, but of course only AFTER I've bought this one. Anyway, this one is certainly faster than my X800 XT and does SM 3 (R6V rocks, and I'll start SC: Double Agent soon). Mine will also be $225 after I get my $50 rebate back. The 256 MB version was $225 (AGP) already.
