Fast Roping

My nephew ( aka- Navy Rescue Swimmer ) gave me one of his Black Hawk squadrons t-shirts tonight , called the Black Jacks , he also taught me a new term today. It’s called Fast Roping. It was fun to talk about. ;) I kept bringing up the - Black Hawk Down - movie when they hovered the Black Hawk helicopter 30 feet from the air and fast roped down. Smooth move….;)

Admittedly never had the opportunity from an actual chopper, which must be a great rush; but every now and again we do from static towers, etc for practice. Personally, I'd rather jump straight out the back of a low flying chopper, into the water.
He's lucky to have all that opportunity to do stuff like that. The Marine Corps has given me my fair share of cool stuff to do, but I'm still jealous hehe.
