New train speed record

I have to admit I relay wish here in north america we would develop a decent rail system for moving between cities. Its so common of there in euroup, but here really no one travals by train much these days. I mean imagion higher speed trains between major cities, like Toronto, detroit, newyouk and da da da da. cheaper then air, easer maybe a little slower, but then add in the time in airport for a flight and it makes you think.
do note there is a blurb in there about calaforina interested in the trains for a line between Sacramento to San Diego, via San Francisco and Los Angeles.
