Says director Jon Favreau on april 29: The company has been on the road for many weeks. We started off in the mountains of Lone Pine which doubled for Afghanistan. We then moved to Edwards Air Force Base. We finally closed out the out of town work with Fontana, CA. Let me confirm a few things: The movie will contain both the gray suit and the gold and red. The light you see in the photo on Robert's chest in the USA Today article is the chest piece glowing through his shirt. He is in captivity and forging the mask of the Mark 1. Both suits have been built practically by Winston Studios and are busily at work as we speak.

to be honest I can't wait to see this. I relay hope they stick to the story lines of the comics tho, and not go off on there own.

its hard to get the history of a charector into a 3 hour movie so i would expect some differences. i mean things like in spiderman, he made web slingers, they were not part of the abilities. etc. i was never a big fantastic 4 fan, so im not sure what differences there might of been in that one. Iron man im curious about as well. i didnt know alot about his history either. but i do know they got the Xmen all messed up hehe. rogue was part of the brotherhood of evil mutants.. along with mystic and destiny. the only reason she came to the xman was due to the fact that she absorbed mrs. marvels powers and her personality, that later compelled her to seek out help from xaiver. anyhow lol. there are alot more differences i noticed in that set of movies. however, i know the correct past, im not one for sticklers in story lines. so i enjoyed them dispite them. as i expect to do with Ironman when it comes out.

Some background info from Wikipedia:

Iron Man (Anthony "Tony" Edward Stark) is a fictional comic-book superhero in the Marvel Comics universe. Created by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber, Don Heck and Jack Kirby, he first appeared in Tales of Suspense #39 (March 1963).

While on a visit to Vietnam (later updated to the Gulf War) to see how his new mini-transistors could assist the American war effort, Stark was caught in a booby trap. Captured by a Vietnamese warlord named Wong Chu, and dying from a piece of shrapnel lodged in his heart from the booby trap, Stark was pressed into building weapons for Wong Chu, along with a fellow prisoner, the famed physicist Yin Sen (later called Ho Yinsen). However, Stark and Yin Sen used the workshop to secretly design and construct a suit of powered armor — an iron exoskeleton that gives Stark tremendous strength as well as other abilities — that will not only keep Stark's heart beating, but also allow him to escape. Yin Sen sacrifices himself to buy Stark time to charge the bulky suit of armor, and as Iron Man, Stark kills Wong Chu and his men.

on the subject of superheroes, i'm currently trying to get hold of Justice League: Unlimited...is this the 'best' JLA series to go for?

I don't know, but I've been thinking about picking up a JLA season or two.

Here's what the wikipedia says:

Much like some anime i'm watching that starts as one title, then bolts on another one in the third (i think) season
