a bit gross, but imo all the more disturbing for the fact that it's an insect eating a mammal...it's not meant to be that way around!!

BLECK! I hate centipede's. We used to get little ones in Boston and I'd hit them with a shoe and little legs would go everywhere. I think I might go after that one with a chainsaw, but I'd still kill it. Disgusting insects.

there's also one that eats bats...BATS FOR GOD'S SAKE!!...It crawls onto the walls in a bat cave, then reachs out and snags them as they fly past...it's a goddam bug!! What's next, my pet cat? Makes me want to buy a 12ft can of Raid!!

I am wondering how long did that mouse live thru that ordeal. On a side note I've read that tarantula's are frequent prey to some species of Hornet in the Amazon and even in the united. The only reason the Hornet catch them is for their young to live in while they develope and grow, the tarantula is the food source and get this its still living thru the whole ordeal.

That sucks big time.

From the two sites I just read it's poison is not strong enough to kill a healthy adult human, but can be dangerous to a child. That seems to imply a bat or mouse wouldn't live through it's bite.... nature is pretty cruel; there are a lot of animals that don't mind digging in before their prey is dead. I've even seen nature shows where Hyenas are ripping apart an animal before it's dead. Think about how almost everything in Africa dies becoming food to something else, and then how many of them probably get to witness some extent of their own devouring. It's pretty messed up; but then I guess it's life...

there are Tarantula Wasps right here in SoCal. They do prey on Tarantulas...

yeah the centipede's got a poisonous bite. At various stages throughout the video you can see either side of its head pretty massive fangs/adapted legs that deliver the 'bite'.

There are a large number of wasps that lay eggs in spiders, where the larva then hatches in the living spider and eats it alive from the inside. I think there's also one where the wasp stings the spider and entombs it with its larva to be eaten later. Ain't nature grand!!

I’ve seen the same thing with flys and fire ants.

BTW: That is some weird stuff Mosey! Entertaining but weird. I Hate that centipede now. Lets put a mongoose in there with the centipede and see what’s what. =]

saw another vid where a centipede takes down a tarantula...shame it didn't get bitten in the process, then it'd be a win/win situation :D

Yup still alive and kicking. check up on th Forums almost daily but work on the house is taking up all my free time. I get up early to work on the house goto work come back if there is anything i can work on quitely at 01:00 in the morning i do so then goto bed and when the weekend comes you can guess what i'm doin then. But i am making progress now, as instead of pulling the house apart now i have started putting it back together after all the destruction caused by putting in the new wiring.

We finally have a living room that's usable and very nicely decorated even if i do say so myself. Kitchen is what i'm working on at the moment, new work tops oven and hob and lights being put in and getting fully tiled and doing it all myself. hard work but it saves cash and it's a great feeling when you finish it and it looks as you planned.

Anyway off to bed got lots to do tomorrow, will hopefully get back into flying again sometime this year i hope! Haven't played any games for months now PDT_Armataz_01_16
