this is an article by a reporter who in June 2004 was on a flight that a recent DHS report confirms was very likely a highjacking test run (probe), now after that cheery thought, she finds this situation in which a Saudi national (who has a name that is on the no fly list) gets into the US on a student visa and ...... vanishes.....

Reading that article really pisses me off - those same agencies did a fantastic job of keeping my sister-in-law from coming over here to go to school. She wanted to learn to teach children and was systematically stonewalled in her attempt to get a visa. We had proof of tuition payment, acceptance at the University, transcripts, etc ... Appalling on many levels.

I work for the government. Unfortunately I can without a doubt say that incompetence is rife. I doubt that it is different between all the different departments, agencies, etc.
