If I can find the time, heck yea. I have the PC version from a couple years ago. Loved playing the board game growing up.

Is this free? Yeah I might be interested except I completely suck at the board game LOL.

"Axis & Allies" was my most played boardgame by FAR during my Jr. High and High School days. I was pretty good at playing each of the 5 different countries but my favorite was Germany.
I like how the boardgame had distinctive plastic infantrymen for each country. Of course, all of the other unit pieces were generic.

How is a board game too abstract? A Picasso or Dali painting may be abstract but a board game?

i understand what steel is trying to say, and it is a proper use, however i am finding it difficult to explain it clearly.
I think he means he finds it abstract in the sense that it is only a vague representation of combat. For instance one plastic tank doe not reflect one real life tank, the gme is based more on chance than skill or tactic because of rolling dice, movement speeds and distance are not wholy based on anything real world, etc. etc....

correct. it is far too high of a level to have any true realism. the combat, economics (are there economics), etc are all abstrated from reality.

True. It's more like a complex game of chess.

yet chess is not abstract...

No offense meant Steel. It's just that the word "abstract" can have a very broad definition.

Well, I've got this downloaded. If anyone wants to give it a go, let me know. Seeing as it is both Axis&Allies, Network Playable, and free (yes both three) it should be fun for the occasional game. Chat on vent, relax, and play...
