Funny enough, after tonight's talk about D&D and NWN, I came across this page:

I honestly can’t remember the last time Jedi was headlining in RLG General.

Yep, TSR was very brave in presenting its first few editions of D&D, especially when it came to monster creation. The guy is absolutely correct, a lot of those monsters were just frick'n lame; still, I used some of them when I was a DM, and in the right context they can be legitmate. The Gelantanous Cube, for example, isn't all that lame but he's damn right about the clothes that attack people and the crossing of a lion with a fish....lamage! LOL. I was always very careful to use monsters that made sense both in their creation and placement in my stories. If I used a Lurker Above, a ceiling that eats people, it was usually the product of a mad wizard's castle because those sort of things just simply don't exist in the natural world; they would've had to been called into this plane of existence from another dimension and most likely used to protect something very valuable, the wizard's staff of power...or his collection of finely woven tube socks. ....yeah...

The problem is when the WOF url disappeared so did my ability to access this site from work. Now I have to check from home, and I don't usually have the time.
See, the "smart" proxy filter the DoD uses automatically blocks any URL with "game"/"gaming" in it, unless it's way down. If it's in the .com/.net/.org part, however, forget it.

Order of the Stick is great, I can read through those comics all day long.
