Interesting. A continuation of the original 5-year voyage with a new cast.

Interesting as this COULD be good. I would at least watch an episode or two before I could form a good opinion.

At first I thought it was a joke. I watched the "World Enough and Time" episode, and I'm not sure what to think. I am guessing it's supposed to be the early years of Kirk, Sulu, Bones, McCoy, etc...?

Just watched the 'pilot' episode "Come What May". Kirk needs a haircut, and the actors are... well... visibly acting. As for the plot, there were lots of things that just didn't make sense: they talked and talked about what the 'alien' in the brig might be up to, but took their sweet time getting around to actually talking to *her*, and even then didn't ask the obvious questions.

However, I'd expect better from the episodes written by former TOS writers like DC Fontana ("Tomorrow is Yesterday", "Friday's Child", "Journey to Babel" and "The Enterprise Incident") and David Gerrold ("The Trouble with Tribbles").

Regardless, Kirk needs a haircut.

I have to watch some to see what I think.

but I always heard that the next series where going to be kirk at the academy, so sounds like this is after that point. I just wish the idea for a klingon based series took off as thats what some of the episodes in DS9 where, pilots for a show like that. remember there are at least 2 shows based almost entirely on martocks bird of pray which where GREAT episodes. Would it make a good series, well thats hard to say.

Watching "In Harm's Way" now - it's much better than the pilot episode, drawing on the original episodes "The Doomsday Machine" (with William Windom, the guy that played Commodore Decker, reprising his role), "The City at the Edge of Forever", and "The Cage" (with Captain Pike and the crew from the original pilot) for inspiration. Better editing, better pacing, better dialogue. Nice banter between Kirk and Bones at one point, with a very authentic feel.

Kirk: Opinion, Doctor?
Bones: I think you're a damn fool. And that guy with the ears is even worse.
Kirk: I'll take that as a 'yes' then, Bones.

Did they spend every last dime on the special effects or did they save one dollar for the actors, props and set.

I'm watching "World enough and Time" episode and all i can say is the acting with the exception of the original (George Takei) Sulu and his daughter is absolutely diabolical.

Kirk needs a haircut and some hair dye as he was blond in the original series or did someone not notice that fact, also acting lessons would not go amiss, The new Mcoy needs to go on a diet but looks quite like the original, Spock need his ears looked as they were never that Big!

Scotty needs a shave (he did not have a moustach in the original series) and if someone could please shoot the actor that is playing him AS SOON AS POSSIBLE PLEASE!! That accent is the worst i have ever heard it's not even remotely Scottish and the phrases he uses are totally cringe worthy, even the original Scotty had a relatively good accent and used some real scottish phrases but this guy can't even say no and make it sound right, he's also no stranger to a fish supper as we say over hear, what a waste.

So far this whole thing looks as if it has been put together by the local Drama club that do plays at your local Primary school, although they found some money to put some good special FX in. Why George Takei agreed to be in it i don't know, it's all as DA says way to Cheezy and the worst acting ever, totally ruins the longest running SCI-FI legacy.

Whoever gave this the go ahead with those actors needs fired and made sure they never be allowed to do anything in television or radio ever again!

I will say this one more time SHOOT THE GUY WHO IS PLAYING SCOTTY NOW!!! before he totally ruins Star Trek forever.

Yes, the acting leaves a lot to be desired. Yes, the guy playing Scotty lacks anything remotely resembling verisimilitude in regard to a Scottish accent and every time he calls someone 'loddie' I want to slap him upside the head. And some of the episodes have plot holes of size sufficient to allow passage of a whole fleet of Excelsior-class starships.

BUT...

Maybe you guys missed the part about how these films were not made made by studio-backed professionals. No one was given any 'go ahead'. No one is getting paid. These were not made for commercial TV or radio. These are FAN FILMS, made by fans of the show, paid for with money out of their own pockets.

AND...

There are moments, however few and far between, where this bunch of LARP geeks (colloquially expressed but essentially correct) DO actually manage to capture some of that old Star Trek magic. If only for a nanosecond or two.

I say cut 'em some slack already.

Well i have since now watched the pilot episode and i think that it was far better tha the episode i first watched, maybe because Scotty didn't say much in it, but it did feel more like the originals.

Strange though how the NEW Kirk in that episide looked more like Christopher pike (the original) tha he did Kirk and how Christopher Pike (the New one) looked more like Kirk (the original one) Hey ho.

As for the sets and the props i think they done those very well

But i still want the New Scotty removed ASAP he just ruins the whole show, Tach is right the others are a bit lame but they are passible but Scotty has to go!
