Wierd shipping systems

I made 3 orders the weekend form 3 different online paintball stores, different ends of the game and sales on products and such.
So one place http://www.hustlepaintball.com/ they don't have a shipping number as its dirt cheep shipping and they just don't provide it if they can, ok whatever skip them as I have seen this before.
Second www.pmpind.com they sent a meail the other day with shipping number and such, they took 3 days to ship it which sucks but since its a bit higher level shipping then the rest then it may get here today still.
now for the odd one, www.actionvillage.com, one of the bigger paintball stores online with all the bells and whistles of a system where you can log in check orders and everything. Been logging in every day to see order status (order made last Friday night), and until today it said everything was instock and was being processed. Was getting a little ticked that it takes a week to process a order. so today its finely updated and there is a tracking number even, go check the tracking number, apparently I missed delivery by 15 min, it is now int he office of my apartment complex, it started moving in the mail Tuesday. I even joked with hondo I will get it at my place before they update the system, well thats about what happened. Kind of pointless to have this nice tracking system if they don't update t tell the package gets there, and I have had this happen several times int he past with different company's never updating there system tro say anything but in process until the thing arrives then they update saying shipped.
am I the only one who has run into this or is this fairly common that company's claim to have the ability to see order states but its relay just a hox as its so slow that its useless.
