Hey everyone, I'm doing a speech in one of my classes on the war in Iraq. I was wondering if any of you had the following information lying around somewhere:

-A straight list of the accusations against Saddam (i've got a few)
-The list of UN Resolutions passed
-Iraq's income generated for the last 10 years
-Crimes committed by the Iraqi military/ Ba'th party

Also...
-reasons AGAINST the war
-slogans by common anti-war groups

The "I was a naive fool" article is highly publicized, I'm definately using that.

Thanks!

Kami:

I would begin your research by visiting a few sites:

The United Nations Website.
The White House website.
Federation of American Scientist website.

All of these should have valuable information on them and answers to your questions. FAS, in particular, has a huge section on Iraq and Saddam's regime. As for the peaceniks views, you may try some of the more liberal newspapers and magazine; in particular, try those published in other countries, even Britain. Many European publications will be opposed to the war and write with that slant. Try Germany too, the whole country thinks we're a bunch of war mongers. You may tap into some Hollywood websites as well, Barbara Streisand has a huge antiwar sentiment on her website. Since she a moron, she'll serve as good fodder in your speech. From her site, I'm sure you'll find links to radical liberal sites chalked full o' meaningless, ill-informed garbage that can you can present in your speech as proof that human beings can have the brain capacity of gnats and still function in our society. Take Willard Scott for instance, the only reason he smiles so much is because they gave him a labotomy. Sheesh!

For the antiwar view, i would go to People For The American Way - BS (Barbra Streisand) and Alec Baldwin are some of the founders of that org.
