My wife was an X-files fan until the last two season's then that damn movie. They have alot of making up to do in her eye's.

A lot of fans did indeed tune out after Mulder left the show and Agent Doggett and Reyes came in. As for the first X-Files movie, I love it.

watch any xfiles or for that matter the movie and tell me how many exchanges like the above take place....hell its almost a drinking game

Well you see, some of the verbal exchanges between Mulder and Scully were in fact recurring themes throughout the show. It all makes sense if you really think about it. Each character has their distinctive qualities which set them apart from the others.

Actually, they already did shag during the show but it happened "off screen".

last few seasons I sort of just let it go, so ya never saw the movie and onlya few of last episodes. So guess I missed that

That really wont matter as far as this new movie is concerned because it will be a "stand alone" story which means that you dont need any prior knowledge of the mythology arcs.

Uh, what? The first movie had EVERYTHING to do with the mythology. Black oil, alien invasion, Syndicate, Cigarette Smoking Man, etc. etc.
