o.k. - well this time the server would not come back up. took a good part of the day with regular work interfering...but the server is rebuilt onto new hardware and should be good to go now.

i forgot - the game server is toast. i was hoping it was the power supply, but the mainboard is gone. i will have to see if i can dig up a replacement.

well i have a new game server running and installed. way overkill, but what can you do... dual opteron 1218's, 4 GB ram, dual 120GB SATA HDDs, dvd rom, 6200LE nvidia card (need this to install some games that require 3d acceleration).

i have falcon af installed and updated. i may have time tomorrow to get it as complete as it needs to be and will get it back to the data center as soon as i can. log in info, ip's, and other info will remain the same.

Were you able to save the NWN2 stuff we were doing?

i own some servers. they are hosted at adata center that is owned by a friend. i use it for my side business (web hosting, programming, general consulting, my e-mail server, etc.) and some gaming stuff...

i am an mcse+i, but most of those certs are expired. i am a development manager for hpc compute platforms and whatever miscellaneous projects come my way. oine of those is this project - i am the dev manager for both the server and client end:

the nwn2 campaign should be good to go. i am updating the arma server to 1.14 right now, and will work on nwn2 next. then get the server back to the data center.

My brother had all certs too and was in charge of his section until some guy from India came over on the boat and became his manager. Then laid him off a few months later. Thinking with several yeas on the job and all his certs to back him up he would land an easy job. Too bad he doesn’t have a BA. That’s what’s every company is looking for. He finally found a job close to home without the 4 hour drive and is doing okay these days. Now he says he wants to move to Mexico and drive to San Diego. Ha! He’d save on the rent , that’s for sure.

i checked Falcon AF, ArmA, and NWN2 servers. Falcon is at latest, 1.13 and ArmA is at latest, 1.14.
