Ok, so I lost my temper and threw a can of silicon across the cellar, and in a million to one shot it, bounced off a series of items stored in the room and smashed thorugh the thin plastic water tank to my dehumidifier. Figures. The universe has a way of letting me know when I'm being stupid. Okay, no worries, I can get a replacement---wrong. Holmes company is having manufacturing trouble, and I can't get a replacement tank.
Okay, well, I've been meaning to run a continuous discharge hose from the dehumidifier to the sumppump hole. Great...can't find a plastic hose that fits properly. The closest thing I could find it just slightly too big and is causing backwash at the nozzle point.
Well, I could run the old dehumidifier that is'nt broken, but it seems like such a shame..what to do? Eureka! An elbowed 4" plastic pipe that sits easily below the discharge nozzle and runs all the way to the sump pump. Great water flow too. Wild E. Coyote ...super genius.
