So true to form, the Dolphins lost and I cant believe Tom Brady is out for the year with a torn ACL. Yikes.
Tough luck on that Chargers loss Softball.

Yea, they played well..... in the 4th quarter. Lol. They need to play like that all 4 quarters. With Tom Brady out, I think the Chargers just might make it to the big dance this year. We'll see.
The Carolina Panthers looked solid all game. BTW, the Panthers are my 2nd favorite team, so the Chargers loss didn't bother me too much. ;)
Maybe a Panthers vs Chargers Superbowl...? That would be sweet!

The beer keg.........
and really....from what I saw this weekend its Pittsburgh and Dallas as the front runners with NYG and NYJ/Buffalo just behind.....
Dallas looked really impressive.....or Cleveland really really sucks, we will know when they play the Steelers next week, but Cleveland was supposed to make the playoffs this year...and they looked horrible yesterday
But all of this is moot.....Boston is only 1 1/2 games back!

I can't tell you how shellshocked I am that Tom Brady is is out of the season. Brady has a tendency to get ...well...angry when he loses big games. True to form, he said that they had some "unfinished business to take care of" when they lost the superbowl last season. I was absolutely certain that, having blown it last year, they would seize the day this time around. They certainly wouldn't have another perfect season, but they would win the superbowl...I was sure of it. Oh well. This is why we watch this game. You just cannot predict anything from season to season, week to week in this sport. Now that's said, I will make some predicitions (somewhat wishful thinking and way too early to be accurate but who cares):
Dallas and Pittsburgh in the superbowl.
Pats make a wildcard/playoff showing but don't "finish" Hey, you can't complain if you live in New England over the past few years. Still, I would love to see them win the superbowl one more time before I die.

What about dem Bears. Yes Manning was skiddish (so they will watch him extra close the next couple of games), but the Bears did to him what they should of done in the Superbowl (I am still hurt over that one). The running game was superb which gave them an honest passing attack even though I believe they should have playactioned a couple more times when they were running the ball extremely well. All in all Orton is the quarterback and Marte is our premium back. Rex and Cedric who????

I have to say I agree with DA....God I can't believe I just wrote that???!!! Yep, I agree with DA. Matt Forte was extremely impressive demonstrating a comfort level beyond his years. Orton didn't make brainless mistakes. The Bears D is healthy, nuf' said. Right now, they are dangerous.

I'll be ecstatic if the Dolphins go 8-8 this year.

I've been telling everyone that if the Bears let Orton go they would later regret it. He has developed into a quarterback that will show great things as this year moves along. With Forte they will allow him time to actually pick a defense apart and on those rare ocassions when he has pressure on him he can actually do his job knowing that this is not the norm. Nothing is worse than a skiddish fieldmarshal. Grif Orton has never truely made any brainless mistakes, yes his rookie season was scarred by the Bengals but that was one game and he still managed almost 2,000 yards passing and only 13 interceptions (bulk of those to the Bengals (5)) and 9 touchdowns (for a rookie on a team of rookie quarterbacks). If you watch alot of the highlight reels of touchdowns and near misses from his rookie season I recognized a great arm that can thread the needle if given the chance and instill in him the proper mental game. He just might have to leave the Bears inorder to be great.

DA,
On any given Sunday a QB can make brainless mistakes. In this particular game, Orton did not. Lets just say I'm not ready to put in the H.O.F. yet. Still, he looked good and I expect him to produce again this weekend.

Aw crap Softball, another tough loss for the Chargers. And of course the Dolphins lost again. Sigh.

Tell me about it; the referee blew the call at the end. *shakes head in disgust*

WTF? I dont know how the Dolphins did it but I'm still shocked that they beat New England 38-13!

We've gotten soft. The defense isn't that old! We simply didn't play intensity and hit hard; as a result, the fish's running game was emboldened and ran all over the Pats. The very definition of a ball control game. Cassel never had a chance to develop rhythm, not to mention that his offensive line didn't help him. Three Jerry Porter tackles?!! Come on Matt Light, what the hell were you doing out there? Gotta protect those young, timid QBs so they can build confidence. So, mostly the Pats-D fault for letting the game get completely out of control.

If you're a Dolphins fan...Lol!
I thought the Chargers made the Dolphins look great. With 14 minutes left in the 4th quarter, let's go for it on 4th and goal. Oh, and let's hand it off to LT who has been sucking ass this year. A play action pass to Antonio Gates or Chambers would have been my call. Or at the very least, kick a field goal and make it 13-17. I stopped watching the game after they screwed up the 4th and goal play. Pitiful IMO.
Congrats on your win. Maybe the Dolphins are a sleeper team this year?
P.S. Did you notice LT wasn't wearing his tinted facemask piece in yesterday's game? Maybe he was using it to wrap his injured toe? Lol.

I know I have LT in my other Fantasy League, and he earned me a lousy four points the other day. sheesh. I might as well have ran a no-namer.
