If that's the case, then I might consider RA3. Do you have a link to that information?

That is still a pain in the ass, but that is a reasonable way to go about it at least. Sounds like they did listen to their customers.

doughtful they noted the massive amount of people just pirating the spore game as they don't want the drm. in the end its still crap but its enough to say we are not just renting a game. note this was spore only I noted hope its for redalert to.
ok not sure its done yet but here are some stuff souds like its going to be fixed but now yet ok fine as long as its done soon.

This one says its had DRM fixed but think one above is newer sounds like its planed but not implemented. but got to admit they have to change there side so you can de regester on there side. So it should be in works

that is what battlefront does - you buy a game (at least ToW and Combat Misson: Shock Force?) and you get two licenses, which you can iinstall anywhere. if you want to change the computer it is installed upon, you unregister the licens on that pc, install it where you want and re-register it.

Bioshock did this same thing ... released with some set number of installs. However, it was patched out of the game after the "piracy window" (6 weeks or so).

I was just going to say the same thing Steel did. I prefer that method of installs over limited installs.

install limitations are lame and petty. There simply has to be a better, consumer friendly answer. I don't know what that answer is, of course. Retina scan maybe? I certainly know what the answer is not. Install limitations, yes I'm saying it again, are lame.

well, if you don't like the current wave of DRM, get used to not playing PC Games ... this appears to be the way it's going to be.

It also appears that production of pc games is slowing to halt as more and more companies focus on producing console based games. So, perhaps in another year or two it won't matter. Hell, as Panzer pointed out the other night, most of the good PC games, sims actually, are being produced in European countries. Oh well, guess I can't help it if the world is suddenly not cool anymore.
