I just signed up for a Netflix account last night. The thing that hooked me on signing up was that you can watch some movies streaming over the Internet and that they made a deal with Microsoft to offer movies through Xbox Live at no additional cost. I'm hoping the XLive movies will offer HD format so I can watch them on my HDTV.
I know some of you use Netflix already, but have you checked out the online streaming movies?

I've been using Netflix for 5 years now but I have yet to watch a single movie from them via streaming. I guess the main reason is because I much rather sit in my cumfy lay-back chair and watch a movie or tv show episode on my 60" HDTV than to be huddled around my flat screen monitor and watching something while I sit on my computer chair which is comfortable but not nearly as comfortable as my living room tv watching chair. :-)
Actually, the ONLY place where I've watched stuff via streaming is from scifi.com when I watched the Season 4 BSG episodes.

I don't even think we got it in Canada eh as I don't see hardly ANY commercials for it here yet state side they where ALL over the dam place. But generally I jsut buy my dvd's either second hand at a video store like rogers video (I am premium member since I work for rogers lol) or blockbuster or brand new if its a big movie I want special edition of.

Netflix is a huge life saver for me because there are a lot of movies and tv shows that I like to watch on dvd but I dont like them enough to buy. I'm big into foreign films so I like to experiment by checking out a bunch of movies I've never heard of. Netflix is great because I can just rent the movie and if I dont like it, I just send it back. Without Netflix, I would have to take a big risk by buying the movie or I have to visit a stupid Blockbuster and hope they have it.

Right so I'm sure they'll have stuff like Transformers and Dark Knight available on HD streaming but dont expect to see something like Waiting to Exhale.Gator wrote:however, they will only have about 300 HD movies to begin with -.
