Hard Drive Failure (Oh joy)

*sigh*

My \E:Drive (500G, SATA-II) took a dump tonight (Thankfully it wasn't my C: Drive), this was my "installed games" data drive. I have tried just about everything I can to recover the data, but Windows will simply not detect anything on the drive. Windows thinks its a new empty drive, and I know it's not. I do have some of the data backed up on a seperate partition (This happened about a year ago), but I'm pretty sure I will have to update a few games (Sins, Supreme Commander, BFME2, etc...).

So, first thing will be getting a new HD, I may upgrade from the (1) 500G to (2) 1TB Drives in a RAID 1 config. Hopefully I can swing the cost.

i don't think you can do RAID 0+1 with only two drives. I believe it takes 4 ... you can do RAID 0 or RAID 1, I currently have 4 drives in 2 RAID 1 arrays ... RAID 0 scares me.
