The Power is Restored - here, at least

Due to the recent major ice storm here in KY, hundreds of thousands of people here have been without power since last Tuesday the 26th - myself included. Power was restored here a couple of hours ago. Good thing, too - the low tonight is supposed to be around 11 degrees.

The first powerless night the temperature in the house dropped into the mid 60s. The second night it dropped into the 50s. Last night it was in the 40s. If it had stayed off again tonight... brrrr. Purp and I camped out in the living room on the couches and passed the time playing Trivial Pursuit. I ventured out yesterday to Wal-Mart and bought some stick-on lights and some food. There were no D batteries to be found, no battery-powered lamps or lanterns, no battery-powered radios, no containers for kerosene (most places were out of kerosene anyway) or gasoline. So, stock up now!
The power went off again as I was typing this - EEK - but came right back on (Firefox restore session saved the text). Whew.
