What did you guys think of last Friday's episode? I'm starting to get knots in my stomach just thinking about what is going to happen to all the characters we've come to know and love.

I keep wondering if all of them will die or if at least a couple of them will survive the final showdown with Cavil and the Cylon colony.

(Actually, I didn't watch it, and haven't been watching it, but I'm curious about how it all ended. So there!)

Well the ending made complete sense to me and I thought it was well-written overall. Good concept.

Except Adama's decision to leave the rest of the group. I know he's heartbroke over the loss of his would-be wife, but seriously he's finally getting along with his son and decides to go off and live alone? Not that I don't respect the decision, but it just doesn't seem quite right. He's left his friend Tie behind as well. hmm. Seems an odd decision to leave everyone behind and live all by himself, not to mention dangerous given where they chose to live. But I'm sure he's not worried about that. At least with Galen, I get it. He's pissed off at the world and prefers to be alone. Oh well, I suppose it's feasible that he makes that decision, I just don't completely buy it.

And, WTF Kara Thrace. Some sort of angel? Some figment of Lee's imagination? They were in an open field. At full-sprint she wouldn't disappear like that.

Of course, the whole story has had biblical allusions throughout, maybe they were trying to keep that motif here.

I was shocked as hell and I loved the ending. It actually made me feel like damn this could have happened, and I can't wait to see what the religious zelots are going to say about this one. I mean the very end which I have watched atleast twelve times and say to myself this is an omen and it could happen. Alot of people say I am not religious and that I shun God when they have it backwards, I love the hell out of God but I hate religion.

Kara Thrace, ok that was something but how does that explain when the last time Roslyn spoke to her she asked where have you taken us plus when Adama hugger her good-bye at the end. Everybody saw her she was real to everyone, they could've kept the whole motif about her not knowing just crazy.

That was an ending worthy of any ending and hell that could be a series premier also. So much is left wide open and at the end are they saying Hara dies soon after they get there.

I wonder how far behind the eight ball are we actaully, and who's further behind us. I'm glad that space is such a huge place.

I am waiting tell the BOX set with everything its and buying that and sitting down and watching end to end over a month or so . Similer to what I did wjem b5 came dvd sets where on sale for 20$ a set lol 3 weeks I went through all of it

I really enjoyed the finale but there were a couple of things that I did not like and I felt a bit let down.

Biggest of all is the whole "resolution" with Starbuck. So she just tells Lee that her work is now done and she suddenly disappears? WTF? Talk about leaving something completely up to the interpretation of the audience. So did she become an angel in the flesh or something similar? Who or what transformed her and resurrected her?

And how was she supposed to be the "harbinger of death"? Harbinger of death to whom? If anything, it was Tyrol who was the harbinger of death to the cylons by interrupting the data download.

I just felt very dissatisfied with how Starbuck's character arc ended.


Ok, and the second point is a big gripe for me mostly because I was an Anthropology major in college. I'm not that thrilled that they took the "Chariots of the gods" route when it came to explaining how the Colonials would eventually interact with the humans who were already living on Earth. Ah, so I guess it was Romo Lampkin who taught early Homo sapiens how to create and implement a legal system huh?

I found it interesting that they thought well enough of the "toaster" cylons to give them the Base Star ship to run off with. To do what? They can't breed, but I suppose they could build more of themselves. Maybe they will go back and finish off the remaining hybrids? Or maybe they will dominate the galaxy and return to "Earth" an start the cycle all over again?

The ending made me wonder though, was the BSG timeline a parallel universe to Earth? Or were they simply time travelers? They were so far advanced in terms of technology, yet 150,000 years had passed and they were in what looked like the present day New York city?

Overall I really enjoyed the final episode, I have it saved on my DVR so I can watch it again and again until the DVDs arrive.

I dont think its really definitive one way or the other. RDM never officially said if the events of BSG take place before, concurrently or after our modern day Earth. My guess would be that BSG is a parallel universe to our Earth.

Don't forget that "The Plan" will be shown later this year so BSG is not totally over yet!

I think with them not rebuilding their civilization it's quite easy for everything to be forgotten after a few hundred years. Then it takes another 140,000 before things get going again with interbreeding with the locals.

It seems like Kara was an uber Head Six/Baltar. The difference was EVERYONE could see her and she could interact with the environment. So she was there, but she wasn't "alive."

Of course, how her body got to Earth from that storm in a gas giant light years away in the first place makes no sense either, so in the end all you can do is say the show didn't rely on pure SF for everything, there is indeed faith and spirituality involved.

I've seen some speculation that Head Baltar was in fact a manifestation of God (given his reaction at the end "You know He/he doesn't like to be called that" and looking down, like maybe he was referring to himself).
Given RDM's earlier idea of having Baltar actually meet God in a vision on Kobol (and having Dirk Benedict play him while a Hendrix song played in the background), the idea that Head Baltar could be God while Head Six was one of his angels is very possible.
