Roger Ebert gave it 2 1/2 stars. What does he know right?

He's just one critic so I dont attach too much importance to his review. That 95% score on Rotten Tomatoes is from an average taken of over 50 critics reviews.

I don't lessen to critic's, they have told me so many times that a movie sucks when in fact they do amazing in the box office or atleast in my eyes where good movies. So ya they can shove there reviews as most times they are not even worth reading.

Well, my experience has been that if a great majority of critics gave a movie bad reviews then I almost always agreed with them when I watched the film myself. Of course the converse can also be true. There have been some films that have received great acclaim by most critics but when I watched the film myself, I either thought it was dull or terrible.

I saw this Friday night and I was very impressed. The humor was great and the performances all around were great as well. Star Trek II Wrath of Khan still gets my vote for the best Trek film ever but this one is now a close 2nd.

It's nothing complicated Veg. I'm sure the parking lot will have spaces for motorcycles. It's pretty standard you know.

Well I saw star trek tonight and I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed with nearly every phase of the film: acting, writing, special fx, musical score. I personally think it may very well be the very best star trek film ever made, but that's my humble opinion. I thought it stuck fairly close to the "spirit" of the original series, and tipped it's hat in that direction more than once, yet definitely diverged off into unknown and unique territory. I can't wait for it to come out on DVD now so I can watch at home a few billion times to decipher the fast paced space battles.

I'm glad you liked it Grifter. As for me, Wrath of Khan is still the best Trek film but this new one comes in 2nd place. :-)

Yeah Wrath of Khan falls to second place for me I think. But it's still an AWESOME movie. Nothing beats Shatner's "Khaaaaaan!" Simply great stuff. I thought this movie really captures a great deal of the Star Trek universe in one neat package. Star Battles, away missions, ongoing Kirk fistfights, drop dead gorgeous chicks in impractically short skirted uniforms, ruthless despotic enemies hell bent on the federation's destruction. It's awesome.
