At the end they all die from germs to which they have no immunity.

Didn't they kind of already do that? It's called "Jerico." Lolz.
Why remake the movie? It's a classic in it's current form.

Because Hollywood is creatively bankrupt.

Did you read the article? The movie will be based on our current time line hence the Chinese involvement.
I guess the Chinese might invade if we refused to pay back the billions we owe them?

Unlike the original film, which was released towards the end of the Cold War, the reversion will see the group of teens, who become known as the Wolverines, invaded by Chinese and Russian troops.
from article it dose not say time line just original was cold war and new one will be china and Russia.

Hell what role did the Chinese play in the Cold War really. The two big super powers during the cold war was USA and USSR. If I'm not mistaken China in the past what 15 years became a force to recon with atleast to catch the general publics eye.

It's a logical and sound assumption to think the new movie will be current day because China is now seen as a major power with military AND economic influence. That's something that was certainly not the perception during the Cold War.

I say who cares. It's a war film. We haven't had a war film in a couple of years and I'll take what I can get at this point even if it is outrageously fantastical.

Really? I think we've had several good ones over the past 3 or 4 years.
1. Letters from Iwo Jima
2. Flags of Our Fathers
3. Downfall
4. Valkyrie
5. The Hurt Locker

Well.....Couple, by definition, means two. Of which, Valkyrie was released last year. Not sure about Hurt Locker or Downfall. Though Defiance was good and that was also released sometime last year. Still, my point is that I'm not going to complain about MORE war flicks being released. Even silly ones now and then are good for pure entertainment. I wasn't expecting accuracy out of the original Red Dawn, and I won't expect it in the new one.

Definitely. Are you going to make the Chinese forces models and skins pack for the game? ;-)
