I'll be subscribing to HBO when this comes out. The Song of Ice and Fire is one of my all time favorite fantasy series.

Could be worse. He could be working on Duke Nukem Forever.

Tonight's episode was fan-freakin-tastic! Sucked for Sansa's wolf though. PDT_Armataz_01_16

Tyrion and Arya are my two favorite characters, hands down. And that POS Joffrey, I wanted to strangle him through the TV.

Anybody else watch the Game of Thrones Season 2 premiere, 'The North Remembers', last night? I did! And I'm not too upset about all the odd deviations from the source material. Mostly just puzzled. In the interests of not spoiling it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, I will say only this:

Melisandre drank first.

Well. She was supposed to, anyway. I've even considered having 'Melisandre drank first!' T-shirts made. This could be even bigger than 'Han shot first'.

On the other hand, maybe not.

Watching it as I type, very impressive. Tyrion is my Fav. Character by far, love his demeanor and attitude. Still hate Joffrey, he needs to die in a fire.

I am vastly puzzled by some of the deviations from the books that the show writers are making this season. Some of them are minor and mostly inconsequential - little 'lol wut?' things, like so many of the TV show sex scenes featuring the TV show character Roz, the death of Dany's silver horse, or even Bronn as the Commander of the City Watch. Readers of the books, say it with me: "lol wut?"

But last week, in "Garden of Bones", we saw Robb Stark get all googly eyed over someone named Talisa of Volantis. And no wonder, she's an interesting character, and not at all bad looking even when she's in the process of sawing someone's leg off. Unfortunately, there's no Talisa of Volantis in the books. There's a Jeyne Westerling, though. From the Westerlands, right there in Westeros. A lovely girl, Jeyne, quite capable of applying the googly to a young wolf's eye. Although I suspect Talisa of Volantis *is* Jeyne Westerling - in disguise. For some bizarre TV show reason.

In this week's episode, "The Ghost of Harrenhal", Arya makes a choice that is, for some other bizarre TV show reason, not the same as the choice she makes in the books, and this bizarre TV show choice will have far-reaching TV show consequences. Because of this TV show choice, a very intense, very important event can now no longer happen.

"Is there gold hidden in the village?"

We'll never know. Thanks, HBO. PDT_Armataz_01_27
