Dam beat the Canadian record by 148 feet (47.6 yards), not a huge increase in range but hey anyone who make a shot that's in the 8000 feet range is someone you want on your side.

I still maintain that Halthcock shot was more impressive.......
U.S. Marine sniper Carlos Hathcock in February 1967 during the Vietnam War, at a distance of more than 2,347 yards (2,146 m) using a scope-mounted Browning M2 .50 machine gun
What it didnt say was he and his Monteyrd (however you spell the name of those tribesmen who the Vietmanese on both sides hated) lugged that damn M2 around for weeks.....and an Nam era M2 was not really considered a "precision" weapon.
Here is his .50-caliber M2 Browning Machine Gun, on which he mounted the 8-power Unertl scope, using a bracket of his own design.
Still and all, grats! 1 more for the 72 virgins in the sky
