Hi guys, just me again! Do any of you have a PayPal account or know anything about it as i am thinking of signing up for one to make easy payments for ebay auctions and so on but want to know more about it (ie: is it safe and as good as they say?) before i sign up!

Any info on this would be appreciated!

I have a Pay Pal account. When you sign up, you have to verify your identity by linking your PayPal account to a bank account. What I did was called my bank and setup a "special" savings account. When I want to buy something from Ebay and use my "special" savings account to pay, (You can use Credit cards on some purchases) I just transfer enough money into the account to cover the item purchased. You can use a Credit Card to make purchases with your PayPal account, you just have to register your Credit Card with your PayPal account.

I don't really like the idea of putting my "cash" into that account to make an Ebay purchase, I just have the account for identity purposes with PayPal. I generally use the Credit Card method. If I buy something on Ebay, and the seller rips me off, I can call the Credit Card company and reverse the charges. If you have the money taken directly from your bank account, the money is gone instantly, and then you have to contact PayPal and start an investigation. This process could take months. It might also be possible for your bank to reverse the charges the same way a credit card would, it depends on your bank's policy.

I have been purchasing items on Ebay for about a year now, and have had nothing but good service. It's a great way to save money and get something that you could not find elsewhere.

I have a Pay Pal account as well - I do both buying and selling on eBay. I have had no issues with it, and eBay now owns PayPal, so they go well together. If you are selling stuff and build up money in your PayPal account, watch how long it sits - move it to your bank account ASAP - then it is out of their control. Also watch the method in which you move the money - some have service charges. Some (very few) will not accept credit card PayPal payments becasue of the overhead...
