Well, Weds. night we had a whopper roll thru. Took a unusual track, South by South-east (similar to the '92 hail storm that cuased like a $billzillion in damage. It was spitting monster hail and rope tornadoes between Wichita and Derby (where my dad lives, about 7 miles south of Wichita) and well it had some pretty scary clouds about (and thats saying something for here). When the weather guy says "OK, Tornado Warning for Wichita and South.....turn up the TV to max and run for the basement or shelter NOW!" you knew it was getting interesting.

here is a a vid shot as the storm passed over Mulvane (5 Miles south of Derby.....and that is what a rotating wall cloud looks like at the business end.

and did I mention monster Hail? Try the largest hail stone recovered in Kansas. 7+" in dia. and weighed over a pound.

One guy I work with got 2 cars totaled, and had deck boards broken in half on is outside deck due to hail. At my place I had golf ball sized stuff and it hailed off and on for over an hour, but not at the volume of last Junes storm that cost me a new roof.

Yep, the 2nd season is off to a great start here in the Land of Ah's (as in ah shit here we go again!) lol

No, the HVAC unit went tits up on Friday while I was at work. At 4AM Sat, it was 94 degrees in the house and even with all the windows open it was brutal with no breeze. I didnt even turn on the PC this weekend, it was bad enough running the Plasma just to watch the games Sat and Sun.

Good news is its just a circuit board that fried, should be fixed in a couple of days. The repair guy hot-wired the fan unit to run (can turn off at the breaker) and the AC will cycle on/off as needed......but yes, brutal weekend
