Liking my new PS3

So, I bought myself an early Christmas present.....a 160 gb PS3 GT5 edition (it just comes with GT5 and a movie). I am loving GT5, other than half the time I have no idea what the hell the car is by reading its name. The Japanese have really different names for cars than we know here in the states. For example a 270Z is called a Nissan Fairlady Roadster Z.....crazy.
So I am just using the game pad, which surprisingly works very well. 2 of the main triggers are progressive so its not just on/off full. Not perfect but its usable. GT5 is pretty cool. The money progression sucks and if you don't know what you are doing (like Me when I started) you make poor car choices and when you sell them back you get crap for them. But after I figured that out, I have a car that is a rocketship.
Its a Honda Intergra (Honda? WTF) Type RS (DHS) Front wheel drive. After getting some parts on it and tuning the suspension, holy crap it corners and sounds like a F1 going thru the gears. I'm still level 12 so I am beating up on stockish cars, but its fun for a lap or so until I get out ahead and smoke'em. LOL So far GT5 gets a big thumbs up.
Now my big complaint so far with the PS3 and its games. So far in Black OPs, and NFS Shift you cant custom assign controls. They are pre-packaged and for the life of me I cant make them work for me. In Black OPs, I end up with the gun going either straight up or down and Shift is impossible because it forces me to steer with the wrong thumb....grrrrrr
I havent even broken the wrapper on Madden 11 yet but I will get around to it. GT5 will keep me busy for a while as there are like over a 1000 cars in the game. I have my eye on a '70 Superbird =)
