I got this reinstalled the other night and converted my one and only character (Burnya) from a Gold to Silver account. I have to say, after playing LOTRO for the last 3 months, I've been very spoiled with the DX10 visuals. City of Heroes blows it away visually, but hey, Champions is free now so I'll deal with it.

I had 8 characters from back when I subscribed. I converted one just to see how it would go, then thought - hey, maybe if I delete one of these old gold characters, it will open up a slot and I can make a new silver... so I tried it, but of course it didn't work that way. So I converted another.

Spell - had magic powers, converted to 'The Grimoire' archetype which uses magic powers - used to be pretty awesome, now sucks.
Snow Angel - had ice powers, converted to 'The Glacier' archetype which uses ice powers - used to be pretty sucky, now awesome.

Go figure.

Spell lost a part of her costume upon conversion. To get it back required expenditure of c-points.

Yea, I had that happen to me. Once I converted my character from Gold to Silver, I lost some costume parts ( stupid! ). I'm still enjoying LOTRO, so don't know how much time I'll put into CO.

Co on line I might give it a try.
