Where have I been?

Post by Softball »

It's been a crazy last few weeks at work, and I have been working 10-13 hour days at work. This last Friday I was not feeling very well after work, so I took the night off and slept. Much needed rest.

Saturday night we had a gig for our business which went very well. We sprayed airbrush tattoos for 2 hours but it seemed longer. With setup, prime time, and tear down, it was about 4 hours. We were beat when we got home, so I crashed out.

I spent most of Sunday cleaning our airbrush equipment, grocery shopping, house cleaning, softball game, and ended the night going to see "Rango".

So I guess you can say I took a week off from gaming. Hopefully my work schdeule isn't as busy next week, but no promises.

Hey it's good to hear from you SB! Life always manages to get really busy for most of us from time to time.

heh. i was at Qualcomm Sunday night repairing a malfunctioning rack (it shipped bad). they did a power outage that they have been trying to do for 6 years to change some bad main breakers in one of their data centers - so we piggy backed the rack repair on that power outage.

Sat night I was assembling new furniture.

Fri night I was finishing painting the garage (I thought I would finish, but that happened Sat morning).

I wasn't on since I was watching the Red Sox BEAT UP the Yankees at a spring training game in Tampa.

I have been dealing with Dads estate, paying off his stuff (house, cars, etc....), dealing with all the financial stuff and trusts, and trying to get motivated to clean out dads house and get it ready to sell, and figure out what to do with the stuff neither my brother or I want to keep. We sold his 2008 Dodge Magnum, and I'm keeping the '10 Honda Accord so Ive had to pay that off and get it retitled to me (still in paper work stage) and the Mortgage on the house is a pain. My parents divorced in '95 but moms name is still on the mortgage so BofA is making me jump thru hoops over that even though as far as the State of Kansas is concerned, the deed transferred to my brother and me on dads death, and mom had already signed a quit claim on the deed so its just the mortgage outstanding at this point. Being a trustee is a pain.

Other than that I have been turning a lot of laps in GT5. I picked up a Thrustmaster T500RS last week and so far I like it. Still not a huge fan of force feedback but after getting it tamed down some, I am no longer fearful of having my thumbs broken when the wheel snaps back after I go "farming", i.e. off the track into the grass. I really like the pedals so far. They come with a factory add on mod to the brake so that it feels very stiff, almost like a load cell, and works really well.....except on my hard wood floor, which it tends to slide the unit forward a bit. My lap times are coming down a bit, last night I was turning laps at Laguna Seca in a Nissan GT-R Spec V (tuned to max) and best lap was 1 min. 24 sec. My only gripe with the wheel is the shifter paddles are fixed and dont rotate with the wheel which makes for some odd gymnastics trying to shift in a turn. Frankly I have been running auto shift because I am always bumping the rev limiter so I need to work on that.

Buffalo, do you have F1 2010, Dirt 2 or Race 07? If yes, Jedi Master and I would love to do some online racing with you.

F1 2010, no but I have seen it for the PS3
Dirt....nope not a rally guy
Race 07.....coaster'd after installing it on my PC.....felt like I was driving something from the 90's graphics wise.

If you have PS3, GT5 is pretty cool. NFS Shift2 is getting very good reviews and its out at the end of the month.
