I did some reading, and it sounds like when we play a multiplayer game each and every persons computer runs a copy and they sync data - we're basically at the mercy of the slowest computer and/or connection; it doesn't matter if we use Ironclad since its out of the picture once we start playing, or who hosts.
So, moral of the story is that no one should be running anything but Sins when we play - no doing anything else CPU or download intensive. Might pay for us all to take a look at CPU usage mid game if we still have pauses and see if anyone is running at 100%....
Or just stop your DVD rips and pr0n downloads before we start

Not sure what the problem was the other night, but as soon as Jedi disconnected, there was no more lag. But by that point, the computer was pretty much wiped out. Too bad Sins doesn't support join in progress. :\
