Saw this last night and I was blown away. Be prepared though to not have all of the big questions answered during the film. :-)

I give it 2 thumbs WAY up.

Saw this today and I have to say, I rather enjoyed the movie. I thought the very last scene was a little "meh", but it does give "some" insight into other Ridley Scott movie(s), so to speak. Charlize Theron played a decent role, albiet she was kind of a stiff in the movie. On the flip side, Michael Fassbender (David) was GREAT!

Panzer, can you explain the very beginning scene and what that was all about? What that a way of "spreading" their race? Or were they contaminating the water supply?

That opening scene was showing how the Space Jockey/Engineer race created life on Earth. When that Engineer drank the black oil, it was done as sort of a self-immolation. It's similar to Hinduism where you have to have death in order to create life. Notice how when his body fell in the waterfall, his DNA broke down and then it reformed with other molecules that were in the water? That was basically the creation of the earliest life on Earth we were seeing take place. So it can be assumed then that this Space Jockey race has been around for at least a couple of billion years.
